Barn Siesta

I know I'm not the only one who loves to spend time in their barn with their horses and other critters. I think I also understand why many us of prefer hanging out in the barn over being in our own house.
The barn is a peaceful, quiet place. Watching the critters go on about their business eating hay, chewing cud or napping is so restful. I've been eyeing up several places in our barn where I can install my hammock. This way I can enjoy a siesta with the critters, too.

I would rather clean stalls than my house, isn't that awful? But, I do love a clean house. ;)

Hi, I just wanted to say I enjoy your blog. We grew up in the city, but now my husband and I have a small farm, and we are just getting started. We only have 2 sheep and 2 pygmy goats, 3 llamas (2 of which do 4H) and chickens, cats, and dogs. I enjoy seeing the pictures of your animals and farm. You can check out my blog and see pictures of ours if you like. I LOVE your horse, she's so beautiful. I took horseback riding lessons for a few months, because I have loved horses my whole life but never been around them, and then when I had a chance to be around them I found I was scared of their size and unpredictability! So I'll stick with the smaller livestock. They are all pets anyway - no one gets eaten at our farm :)

Hi Train Wreck!
Thanks for visiting. I'm pleased you liked my blog and all of our critters. They'd love you loving on them, too. :)

Hey Val,
A clean house is good, but it feels cleaner for me if there is no clutter. So when you come over to my house, it may look clean, but don't sweep your fingers over any surfaces! haha

Hi Christy,
When I get my hammock up and you eventually come out here to NM for a visit, you have an official invitation to laze in it while snuggling a goat on your lap! :)

Hi Stef,
Thanks for visiting my blog and I'm glad you like all our critters.
We are similar about the horses in that I wanted them all my life and do have a bit of cautiousness about their size and predictability. Probably moreso now that I'm over 40. I suppose I'm trying to face my fears and combat them owning my own horse. She's a sweetie on the ground, but I'm still working on our relationship in the saddle.
I can't wait to check out your blog! Especially since you have llamas. I love love llamas. There is something so special and unique about llamas, isn't there? Llama breath and llama lips on your arm or neck. Bliss!
