Too much Jello

One of our neighbors, who is also our County Treasurer, had a party over the weekend. They had about 200 guests, lots of food, music and a jumper for the kids.
My daughter could see the jumper from her bedroom window, so she was very excited for the party to start all morning, and was the first one out the door.Jackson drove his siblings over to the party in the tractor, which made me laugh. What a ranch family we are now, traveling by tractor. hehe!

Isn't this fruit display fun?! I'm glad I took this photo when I did, too. I think that 'melon heads' (thanks SMR!) are a terrific marketing tool. That fruit was gone quick! Faster than the cookies even. So, what is my neighbor friend, Val, smiling so happily about?Yep. It's what you think they are. Jello Shots! These two are margarita and pina colada flavored. Val had a Fuzzy Navel Jello shot, too. The lady who made them had to keep them in safe-keeping and handed them out to the adults because the shots look so yummy and fun. The kids would have been trying to eat them by the handful. gah!Oddly enough, this was my first Jello shot experience. My first impression was how weird they were in taste and texture. There really wasn't much taste. It was all about the alcohol. I'm not much of a drinker: an occasional glass of wine with dinner, a margarita with friends. So, these Jello shots hit me pretty good, and I only had TWO! haha. I'm such a light-weight!The music was really great, too. This gal was a very talented singer with lots of emotion.

Dang, had I known I would have made a batch of those jiggly little things. You'll have to settle for the wine that's chillin' as we speak.

I think you sound fun to hang with. I've never had a jello shot.

I like the carved watermelon idea. I'm not much of a drinker either and have never had a jello shot. They look good for a hot day though and they're probably good for your fingernails.

OMG...I LOVE the pic of you "shooting" that Jello shooter...lol!!! What a fun neighborhood you live in. Are there any available houses with acreage nearby that are for sale? Just joking!

I am a true light weight as well. Two to three drinks tops, and I am under the table. We'd make a great drinking pair wouldn't we?

I am a big fan of the jello shot. I make them every year for Halloween, I do orange and green jello, sometimes purple which ends up looking black. But this year I will be 8 months pregnant at Halloween, so I might have to make a scary melon-head full of fruit instead!! And maybe some virgin jello cups. Cute ideas!

What a fun looking party! I'd like to go to a party, it's been a long time. I don't think I've ever had a jello shot.

Well I am such a light weight that one jello shot would have me on the floor with green slime trickling out of the corner of my mouth. Looks like a fun party.

Saddle Mountain Rider,
I know..I liked that melon head, too! I wonder if I can make one just like it? I mess up carving a pumpkin, so my hopes aren't too high. hehe

CeeCee,
hahah! So that explains why I'd never tried Jello shots before. I never went to college (except Community). Everyone, except for a few children, were older adults at the party. Guess we were all feeing ou youth! hehe

Hey 7MSN,
Your wine tasted much better than those wiggly things. Thanks for the good time :)

Hi Andrea, I like that fruit display, too. And it's probably a good thing to be a lightweight, right? :)

Oh wow, Farm Mom! Where is Grey Wolf?? I gotta know about those jello shot days of yours! hehe :D

Hi Meg,
I know! It's silly isnt it? hehe The neighbors are nice, but I kind of wish we were farther away from neighbors, or at least had a little more privacy. I prefer looking out my windows and seeing trees and vistas...not houses :(

Hey Goatgirl,
I'd like to think I am fun! I bet you and I would be fun together. We can do jello shots! hehe :)

Grey Horse Matters,
Hmmm....I wonder how many jello shots it would take to help fingernails grow? What an incentive, eh? hahah!

Hey Melanie,
We'd be cheap dates, though, eh? We'd already be laughing like hyenas and feeling happy after just a drink or two! hehe
There's nothing for sale in my neighborhood, but there is a house behind us that's been for sale for about a year now. It's a nice manufactured home and has great views and is on 2 acres. Interested? :)

Hi Dan! Thanks :)

Hey Palomino Girl,
What a fun idea for an adult Halloween party. Are they alcohol flavored or grape, orange and lime?
A creepy melon head for Halloween sounds like fun!
Congrats on the pregnancy. When are you due?

Christy,
Me, too. Most parties are in town and we don't drive to ABQ very often, especially for evening parties because then we'd have to drive home late at night.
It's nice when parties are in your neighborhood, so you can just walk home! hehe :D

Thank you GA Farm Woman :)

heheh Thanks for the visuals Egghead! bwahahah!
:D
