2 Year Blog Anniversary!

Whooohoo! Today is the 2 year Anniversary of Laughing Orca Ranch Blog!!!

In the past two years I have written 351 blog posts and uploaded so many photos that I had to pay for additional photo storage.
I love this picture and how the double rainbows look like they are shooting straight up from our barn. So, in honor of this special accomplishment I am hosting a little contest and I hope my blog readers will participate to help me celebrate.
There will be 5 questions to answer with one bonus question. For anyone who has been reading my blog for a while, the questions will be easey peasey to figure out.

The contest will end Sunday evening at 10pm Mountain Time. If there is more than one person with all the correct answers, I will gather up the winners names and write them on pieces of paper to place in a bowl, and then ask my 5 yr old daughter to choose the final winner.

And yes! There will be a prize! It won't be something amazing, like a $100 Amazon gift card, but it will be something that some lucky person will receive from New Mexico into their own mailbox. And isn't it always great to receive something fun, that isn't a bill or a summons to serve jury duty?

So come help me celebrate my 2 year Laughing Orca Ranch Blog Anniversary!!Questions:

1.What are the names of both of my llamas?

2)What kind of goat is Latte?

3)What 2 breeds of sheep do I have?

4)Who is our Sid Vicious?

5)What is my horse's full registered APHA name?
And the Bonus Question:

6)How did Laughing Orca Ranch get it's name?
(hint: go back to the beginning)

Good luck!
And thanks to all of you who read my blog!

Update: If you don't see your post, don't worry. I'm purposely not approving the posts with answers from the contest, until it's over. I know the answers are easey peasey, but this will give everyone a fair chance to do their own research. Thanks again for all the 'entries' so far! :-)

~Sunday Night Update: Contest is Over!
All entries/comments have been published!
The winner will be announced on Monday!!
Thank you to all of you who participated.
You make publishing my blog so much fun.
Thanks for reading :)

Okay here goes my guesses, just a tip but I think your side bar is an answer spoiler. But it was fun to search your blog over. I really think I need a little black sheep just like yours. Too cute!! Okay here goes:

1. Catlinite and Cataleya
2. Latte is a Mini Mancha dairy goat.
3. You have a Navajo-Churro and a Karakul Sheep
4. Sid Vivious is the Sultan Roo fo Laughing Ocra Ranch, and very handsome devil I might add.
5. Dakota's Baby Doll
6. Your daughter, Jenna, told you she wanted an Ocra horse to ride and take care of. She is a really cute girl. She is lucky to have her dream come true.

Oh oh did I get everything? This was so fun!! Thanks for the questions!! Love your blog and your Ocra horse!!!

Darn it, I'm still playing catch up! But I do know some of the answers so I'll put them in a different post :)

1) Boy llama is Catlinite or Cat for short. Girl llama is Cataleya or Leya for short.

2)Latte is a mini Mancha (ha ha, I accidentally called her a MiMi Mancha when I first typed that. Thank you proof reading!)

3)The sheep are Navajo-Churro and Karakul. (I haven't read about them yet but saw them in the sidebar!) :)

4) Sid Vicious is the rooster. (and I loooove the post with he and his minion "the paparrazi sir!" lmao)

5)Dakotas Baby Doll is your 'orca horse's' name ;)

6)Your ranch got its name because of a comment your daughter made. The comment was wanting a horse that was an orca horse (meaning a black and white paint/pinto)!

Catlinite and Cataleya
Mini Macha
Karakul and Navaho Churro
He's the main man, the top Rooster with great "hair"
Dakota's Baby Doll
Jenna wanted an "Orca Horse" to take care of. She meant a Paint Horse, but didn't know the word. You later saw a jumpy thing at Home Depot with "twin" Orcas on the top. It was a sign.;)

Sorry, I too, forgot to say, "Happy Anniversary!!"

Ooohhh...contests are fun, and congratulations on making it for TWO years!!

Here goes:
1) Catlinite and Cataleya.
2) A Mini Mancha.
3) Navajo Churro and Karakul.
4) He is one of your roosters. I believe he is a Golden-Laced,Bearded Polish chicken!
5) Dakotas baby Doll.
6) Because your daughter said that she wanted to ride an Orca, but she meant ride a horse that looks like, or has similar markings to, an Orca (I had to look that one up).

Your beginnings in NM sound interesting. I will have to go back there when I have more time and investigate.

Aren't you the clever one! Giving us a pop quiz! What a cool way to celebrate your blogging anniversary. Here's the answers... & most I already knew so I've obviously been reading a while now!

1.What are the names of both of my llamas?
female llama, Cataleya, gelding llama, Catlinite

2)What kind of goat is Latte?
Mini-Mancha Goat

3)What 2 breeds of sheep do I have?
1 churro sheep, 1 karakul sheep

4)Who is our Sid Vicious?
Golden-Laced, Bearded Polish Rooster

5)What is my horse's full registered APHA name?
Dakota's Baby Doll

And the Bonus Question:
6)How did Laughing Orca Ranch get it's name?
to quote: "One day, my clever daughter Jenna told me that she wanted an Orca Horse to ride and take care of. She loves Orcas, but what she really meant was that she wanted a black and white horse with markings similar to an Orca. Makes sense to me! My wish is to give my precious Jenna her heart's desire."

Happy Blogaversary!

Once upon a time a beauty named Jenna told her mom she wanted an Orca Horse to care for and ride, after a lot of tough times they made this wish a reality, they started with Cataleya and Catlinite, got that Orca Horse named Dakotas Baby Doll, who used to be called Dolly, yuck, Shauzer flashbacks.
They tossed in a couple of sheep, a Churro and a Karakul, a Mini Mancha goat named Latte. Lets not forget the chickens, where Sid, the Golden Laced Bearded Polish struts his stuff.
So many wonderful things happen to this family, thats why beautiful rainbows shoot from their barn.
What will this family do next? You'll just have to keep visiting this blog and see.

Sending love your way
michelle

Those rainbows are beautiful!

What a fun idea! Here's my answers to your contest questions.

1. Catlinite (male) and Cataleya (female) are your llamas
2. Latte is a Mini-Mancha Goat
3. You have Svetlana a Karakul ewe and Blanca a Navajo Churro ewe
4. Sid Vicious, your Golden-Laced, Bearded Polish is the Sultan Roo of Laughing Orca Ranch Coop
5. Dakota's Baby Doll is the APHA registered name.

And the answer to the bonus question is that your daughter Jenna wanted an "Orca Horse". What she meant was that she wanted a black and white horse marked like an orca. I thought it very touching that your wish was to give Jenna her desire--and you DID with Baby Doll!

Happy anniversary! I loved the idea of the contest. Have to admit that I got so engrossed with your blog that I pretty much wound up reading everything from the beginning.

Great posts--great photos--and most of all a great time!

Congrats!
