About a week ago, I went to the vet with my neighbor friend, Val, to get an ultrasound and check-up done on her beautiful Arabian, Annie. We were able to see the shape of the foal embryo, including head, legs, tail, as well as the placenta feeding the foal. And most amazingly was seeing the tiny beating heart. What a miracle! Thanks Lisa,
That is such an awesome photo!
It's so amazing seeing the head pointing towards the middle. You can even see the little lips and nostrils! And one of the hind legs is pointing upwards.
I've been down lately and you really made my day.
That is pretty cool! Now, I'm partial to my ultrasound pics (and am getting some 3-d ones next week--do they do that for horses yet?) but this would have to be my second favorite ultrasound picture!
Great photos, I've never seen that before!
If you think that the ultrsound photo is cute, just wait until the little Arab is born. THAT will be cute!!! :)
Isn't technology amazing? Has school started for you guys yet? I was thinking of you this morning, when we all had to get up early. I thought "If I home schooled, we wouldn't have to do this!"
What a great picture. I love seeing that little horse head.
Goodness how amazing! I have never seen that for a horse, nor did I know you could get a horsey one!
I will have to pop over to your friend's site and check out the details!
Hi Val, I'm sorry you're having some down moments. I know you're a super independant gal, but please don't ever hesitate to call if you just want to talk, or call and we can rendevous at the barn for a late night chat or something, k?
Also, thank you for allowing me to be a part of Annie's journey to Motherhood. What a miracle and so amazing. :)
Hi Palomino Girl,
I'm not sure, but I bet they would for the big figure race horses, don't you think? Now that would be something to see! I hope you post your U/S pics, too :)
Hi Arlene,
I know! Pretty amazing, eh? :)
Oh Melanie! I can hardly wait. I know Val feels the same way. Next Spring seems to far away....but look how fast this summer has swept by! Our homeschool schedule starts next Monday. Labor Day and my birthday have always signified the end of summer for me, so we start after all the end of summer activities are over. The kids are in a better mind-set to get back to work and focus that way. too. :)
Oh! And hey! Thanks for asking.
Hi GoatGirl! I know. Ins't that truly inspiring and amazing. There is a tiny horse growing right now as I type! whoo!
Hi Pony Girl,
Oh yes! You really should. This was my first time seeing an U/S of a embryonic horse, too. I just had to share it. And I'm just so glad that Val has been sharing the experience with me, too. :)
