My kidlets and I have been busy, busy over the past week and haven’t been home very much with guitar lessons, a road trip, some Letterboxing, hiking, attending a Paint Horse show, a rodeo, Polocrosse practice, Pink Ponies T-ball, volunteering with the horse rescue, and visiting with friends. Ranchman John has been out of town most of the week on business, so I’ve been doing all the animal care, driving around and kidlet care around here, too. I am wiped out! And so very tired.
But when we have been home, there are always interesting things to view from my tower, like……….
The Twinlings, Jax and Jem, tractor-trekking with friends.
We recently found a very large, 10’ long branch torn off of one of our big juniper trees that line our driveway. We hoped it was just caused by some of our strong winds that move in before a storm, but one of our neighbors is in the middle of a major landscaping remodel and has dump trucks and semi-trucks coming to his house on a daily basis.
And we share the same address, although we are on opposite ends of the road and his address ends in ‘lane’ and ours ends in ‘court’. So, of course, we shouldn't have been surprised to discover that some of the trucks are finding their way up onto our driveway….and causing damage to our trees and driveway.
But I get so happy when I see groups of horseback riders riding past my house.
Though I must admit that it saddened me to see them riding right over the same spot where dear Rojo took his last breath not very long ago.
As the sun went down and they turned back for home I enjoyed seeing how relaxed the horses and riders were riding beside our county road. Even relaxed enough for one gal to try out a few trick moves and a man to chat on the cell phone.
I’ve never felt comfortable riding across our county road, where it’s not uncommon for motorcycles, large trucks and many speeding cars to go zooming by….with no concept of driving safe near horses.
These riders and their horses are much braver than me (and my mare, too).
And here’s another group of riders riding in front of my house, on a different day.
Baby Doll is spending her days grazing and out on the leased pasture over on the ridge. She’s part of a herd of four and it makes me happy seeing her enjoying just being a horse.
I’ve also seen some really beautiful skies from my tower, too.
Good Night Moon.

Hey How are you doing? I've just had you on my mind- hoping things are going well. I've been real busy too, but aren't we all?
How is the back? :)
Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten my blog friend! We'll be in touch soon!
You have some wonderful skies there.
That's an amazing shot of the moon!
It always amazes me that people see you on a horse and somehow think it's OK to fly past. Courtesy, along with chivalry, has expired.
I hope the day comes that I can be one of those that ride any where comfortably, I went to take riding lessons again to get my confidence back up to get in the saddle on my own horses, I have been playing with my own horses when I get a chance, the key word is Chance, I seem so busy!
Know that worn out and tired feelin ALL TOO WELL! LOL
Great shots as always Lisa! (Now I am wishing I could go back to bed with that lovely moon!!)
Hmm... somehow that sounds funky...lol
awesome captures...so nice to see baby doll in the pasture and enjoying summer.
your moon shot...WOWZA
have a most terrific day lisa!
Beautiful photos! I loved the ones of the riders!
Wow, you are one busy mommy. I try really hard to cut back on the "have to be somewhere" things in the summer.
Great pictures from the tower!
Oh love the red-sky photo, wow.
Wow, Lisa!! You are one busy woman! How is the knee doing with all that work? I hope it's getting stronger all the time so you don't have to wear the brace.
Gorgeous photos, you can see a lot from your tower! :-)
hugs.....

Next summer, I am going to cut WAY back on all the activities, go here go there. This summer went by too quickly!
I cant wait to see you back in the saddle my friend!
Lisa,
Seeing those riders makes me want to go ride!! But at the moment we would turn into crispy critters in this heat.
I posted the pirate llamas LOL they sure are cute!
How is that knee of yours doing??? At least you are able to be mobile now, right?
I love how the kidlets are playing with that small tractor and trailer. We used to do the same thing, when I was a kidlet....
And just look at all of those trail riders!! I wish we had that many people to ride with around here. They definitely look like they had a good ride. :)
Those riders are like the ones a round here. They just go and do and don't think of a thing. And their horses don't mind traffic at all. All we have to ride around here on are roads. So, it's amazing how quickly they get used to cars. Fun pictures!! I can't believe I have missed to many posts while being gone!! I was so excited to get back over here and see how you have been!
Awesome skies. When will you be able to ride?
Very nice post in a lot of different ways. I love seeing Jax driving the tractor. That's a great experience for him.
Actually, I think it's kind of neat to see riders pass through the spot where Rojo died. It somehow seems appropriate to honor his spirit -- even unintentionally.
Get some rest.
Dan
The moon shot reminds me of a ditty my daughter and I used to say: " I see the moon, the moon sees me. God bless the moon, and God bless me!"
My my you do see a lot in that tower of yours!
I ride by roads a lot because I have to. There's not a whole lot of places to ride without hauling. What's the situation where you are?
