Corn Chip Canine

Does your canine have a peculiar odor?

IMG_1500

Mine does.

I’ve always had dogs with a particular odor. But nothing I could name or recognize. Just some sort of doggie scent.

But even after washing Dobbie several times, I realized that her unusual scent is a part of her.

And anyone that sneaks a sniff of my little dog immediately recognizes that smell, too.

It’s Corn Chips!

I wonder if our GSD, Zuni smells it, too?

Maybe even my mare, Baby Doll, can smell that corn chip scent, as well?

But I don’t think Baby Doll likes the delicious smell of corn coming from a canine, though.

I certainly don’t mind, except for this constant odd craving for Fritos Corn Chips.

DOG FEET ALWAYS SMELL LIKE FRITOS!! I know I am not the only one now. Seriously go smell a dogs foot. I've always said that.

Oh goodness! Corn chips? Who would've thought that! I have never noticed my dogs smelling like anything other than dog, like wet dog, clean dog, stinky dog, in between dog. I don't think I have ever put together an actual human food smell to them, unless they roll in lets say, oysters, fish, human crap, which by the way, have all happened!
Dobbie is so stinkin' cute! Love the picture of BD trying to eat her! LOL!!

Great shots!! Maggie smells like something I can't quite tell, I'd love a dog that smells like corn chips or at least Nacho cheese doritos..:-)))

Corn chips! That's hilarious! I have been lucky, although our dalmatian had a funk related to his skin condition, the eskimos have no doggy smell - if anything they smell slightly 'foofy', like they've been to the groomer - even though they only get bathed a couple times a year. That and the 'stay clean' fur is just another benefit of owning the pesky little buggers :)

*hehe giggles*!!! To funny!! I love the picture of her running and all of her feet are off of the ground!!

Ours smell like that, and we call it "stinky Fritos" too!

I guess corn chips is a better smell than most smells they have a habit of picking up.

I've heard it said that all dogs' feet smell like Fritos - but I've never heard of a whole dog smelling like that!

Lisa too funny! Laverne smells like Fritos too and so did Eeyore our other little dog. The smell seems to be coming mostly from their feet, my daughter used to call Eeyore, Frito Toes! LOL
I noticed that Dobbie has a dark strip on her back, Petey also has a dark strip of hair down the middle of his back.
Love the flying dog picture! She is such a cutie!!!

The Greyhound I used to have smelled like popcorn.

That first pic of Dobbie is adorable! How are you two doing - best friends yet?

We had a collie named Sandi and she earned the name of Frito Feet. due to the fact that her feet always smelled like Frito's. If you check the corn chip odor may be coming from her feet. My Jack Russells have the same ususual
odor. Strange isn't it?

Dobbie has just the most beautiful eyes...they match her coat! I wish my dog smelled of corn chips instead of swamp...

My first laugh of the day came after reading this. You don't want to know what Monty smells like. He's the most disgusting dog in the world.

OK, now those are some FUN pictures! I know you named Dobby after the house elf of the same name, but you didn't tell us that your flies, too! (2nd picture!)

Suka, unfortunately, still smells faintly of skunk. I don't particularly mind, but when she gets wet, the other folks in the house move to another room.

Dakota doesn't have a smell, really. Except when wet - Then she reminds me vaguely of clean wet wool.

The cats, especially Tuxedo, remind me of nothing more than fine mink - Thick, luxurious, soft, short coats... More static electric than scented.

Have you ever smelled a Binturong? They smell like buttered popcorn. I kid you not.

Too funny.
All dogs have corn chip toes. Don't know why---it doesn't matter where they live, their feet smell like corn chips.

At least it's a reasonable odor! Beats the heck out of skunk.

At least it is corn chips and not wet dog! LOL just to cute!

I read somewhere recently that all dogs' feet smell like corn chips. And I thought, "Yes! That's what it is!" I hadn't been able to name it, but I had noticed all my dogs' paws have had the same smell.

So, since you brought this up...am I weird for liking that dog paw / corn chip smell?

LOL, great pic of him running away from the camera... soo cute! My cat loves corn chips...or any chips for that matter.

What a cute post! Your puppy looks just like its namesake in that last shot!

Yep, it's Dobbie's paws that smell like yummy corn chips, but she's so low slung to the ground that her close proximity to her own feet makes her entire body smell like corn chips. lol!

Too cute. My dog does not smell like corn chips.I'm with Paint Girl. Wet dog, Bad smell dog, Rolled in ---- dog, just washed etc etc....... If I'm lucky she just smells a little bit like a regular dog. thanks for the laugh.

Yep...Frito Feet...Cindy Sue's got 'um too! I read somewhere that it's the bacteria...or something that causes the smell.

Oh my! That is too funny! You're lucky though! My Chey usually just smells like horse poo. Luckily it washes off, but it's not long before she finds it again. That second picture cracks me up! Love it!
