And up in the Woolies’ paddock.
Catlinite is saying Good Morning!
And Cataleya is just happy to see me. Looks like she’s playing dress-up wearing a hay wig.
And Baby Doll, with icicles in her mane, looking up momentarily from her hay net to say “Now What?”.
And Mud Pie the Nigerian Dwarf Goat says, “Got any treats?”
And Luna, the Angora goat, says, “Got any Cookies for me?” (X marks the spot, don’t you agree?)
Blanca the Churro Sheep and Svetlana the Karakul Sheep are waiting patiently. Well sort of.
Latte the Mini-Mancha goat and Mud Pie are definitely not very patient at all.
Just like happy kids on Christmas Eve, they can barely contain their excitement!
But just like Santa Claus, we deliver the goods around here!
“Whatcha got in your sack, Santa?”
“Hmmmm, I thought Santa wore a red hat…not a fuzzy purple one”
“That’s ok, Santa, we won’t hold it against ya”
Santa Claus doesn’t leave out any special creatures in the goodie giving.
And they all politely waited their turn, even though Santa likes to dote on cute baby Yalla the most.
Zuni kept a watchful eye on things while waiting for a treat from Santa, too.
Meanwhile, from inside the house came sounds of a Christmas Music Jamfest.
And there were home-made treats to be delivered to all 7 of our neighbors.
And a special handmade gift, too.
As the sun goes down we anxiously await Santa’s arrival.
He’ll have to come through our front door as we only have a gas fireplace with no chimney.
But I don’t think he and his reindeer will have any trouble finding our house.
And we will be sure to send him along to your house after he leaves here on Christmas Eve.
Thank you all for reading my blog this year. I appreciate everyone who has given me wonderful, supportive comments, helpful advice, and words of encouragement and friendship. You are all my special gifts this year and I feel very blessed.
My wish for all of you is a fun-filled, peaceful Christmas filled with love and joy. Don’t forget to enjoy all the beautiful, intangible gifts of the season as we celebrate Jesus' birthday. We are all so very blessed each and every day to be brought together through our community of blogs. Thank you for sharing your daily lives with me. I’ve enjoyed getting to know each of you, your families and critters, as I sit with tea and snacks in hand stopping by to visit you each day.
Merry Christmas everyone!

And Merry Christmas to you and your family too Lisa (both furry and human! :) ) You really look as though you are set for Christmas - have a great one.
What a lovely post. I feel the same way about all our fellow bloggers. I have read so many interesting blogs and seen the talent of so many of you. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas Lisa.
Santa does come early for our animals!
What a great setting, Santa will have no trouble filling the house with joy since it's almost filled as it is!!
Have a very lovely Christmas!
I just want to kiss the lips on the black & white sheep at the fence.
Lisa, I sure have enjoyed your blog freindship this year.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Merry Christmas Lisa!! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas eve and Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas to you and yours! Glad you got some time to play around with the camera. (And how do you keep your living room so neat with all those visitors???)
Oh goodness....I just want to give all the fuzzies a big hug!
Have a wonderful Christmas!
Flartus,
I just have to say THANK YOU for saying that. I've already had my feelings hurt by my stepmom, after she's only been here for 2 days. She actually called my house 'filthy' and said she 'couldn't believe I kept it so dirty and didn't even clean better for my company visiting for the holidays'!
Yes, I do have dustbunnies that gather around, and my floors often are mud-stained from barn visits, and my windows have smudgy fingerprints, and the litterboxes aren't always spotless, and the floor sometimes has pet hair (well, we do have 2 dogs and 2 cats, for goodness sakes!).
She went to work as soon as she got here and scrubbed, sanitized, bleached, and spread gallons of cleaning solutions all over my house.
I was pretty upset. She's my guest, ya know? I let her have full access to my kitchen 'cause it makes her happy, but the kidlets and I spent hours cleaning the house before my folks arrived and though it's not spotless by any means, I think we did a pretty good job.
And besides my priorities are so different than they used to be. I used to be a perfectionist, too. I used to nag and b*tch for everyone to pitch in clean every day.
But life is short, and I'd rather play with my kids, be outside with my animals, read, visit my blog friends, take photographs, and enjoy life than be inside wiping away every piece of dirt and clutter the moment it happens.
Anyway, I appreciate your comment because I know my home isn't a toxic waste dump site and is kept fairly neat, but it's such a relief to hear it from someone else.
Thanks!
~Lisa
Lisa,
Wishing you and yours a wonderful, beautiful, magical Christmas!
Your critters are so fuzzy and cute!
Enjoy your Christmas Eve...=)
p.s. Don't ever worry about the dust bunnies...you are awesome and you keep it real!! =)
Lisa! First off a very Merry Christmas to you and your family and critters.
Your home looks lovely. You have your priorities straight... it's not really *you* with the problem you know, but your step-mom. She must have some pretty bad issues to feel like the only way she can feel good is by putting other people down.
So have a happy holiday! Be happy! It's not your fault she's not!
Love ya! Hugs your way.
Re the clean comments... when I saw the pic of the jamfest in the living room I thought "Wow, how does she keep everything so clean?" I know you've got a menagarie of critters and those floors sure show dust bunnies (I know I've got a ton, even if I just swept 5 minutes ago! lol)
Don't take the negative stuff to heart. I used to feel bad for not being a better housekeeper until I realized that I'd rather spend my life LIVING than CLEANING. :)
omg the cleaning thing threw me and I forgot to make my originally intended comment! lol
First that pic of Jenna with the sheep/goaties lined up is so precious! Loved it :)
Also have you ever heard of a llaca? (sp??) Friends of mine got one to guard their sheep (which they also just recently got) Its a llama - alpaca cross.
I am in live with yur critters!
Jenna is beautiful. I do not clean like I used to. I am like you, other things have taken priority! The work will be there tomorrow!
Merry Christmas! Hope Santa brings you lots of goodies.
Your pictures are all so beautiful!! The comments made me laugh, of course!
I also was going to say your house looks so clean and cozy!! I love it! I also don't clean like I used too. I am way too tired from work. Plus I never have anyone over, so I don't do it as much. Like you, there are so many more important things out there!!! Some people can be so insensitive!
Wishing you and your family a very, Merry Christmas!!!
Lisa.. you keep doing what you are doing.. the cleaning will not be remembered, the memories with your kids and the pets will be remembered.
Wonderful post..
Merry Christmas..
ummm, yeah I'm here again. I just realized when I was writing the cleaning comment I just said "those floors" like you would know what I was talking about. lol
What I meant by "those floors" was any hard surfaced floor (ie tile, laminate, hard wood...) The dust bunnies sure do seem to like them!
We have laminate and two cats and two (big) indoor dogs. As I said I can sweep and it seems like 5 minutes later there are dust bunnies everywhere!
They must multiply like wire coat hangers in a closet lol
Merry Christmas to you and your family, I have throughly enjoyed your posts this past year and look forward to another year from the Laughing Orca Ranch...:-)
p.s. love the Kokopeli pic in the living room..
Merry Christmas, Lisa!
Merry Christmas to you and yours as well, Lisa!!!
Great pictures. I love your Sheperd.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Lisa and family, and thanks for all the wonderful photos and stories you've shared with us this year. As far as your stepmom goes, I hope you invite her back two days early next year so she can clean your house for you while you go out and play with your furry friends! Heeheeheee!
Lisa...Before I read your comment regarding your housekeeping criticisms, I was about to say that you have a fabulous house...inside and out! Jam sessions are fun, aren't they?
You should see my kitchen floor...it just goes with the territory when you are in an out of a barn, caring for critters. I need a good mud room to catch all that. Just blow it off. You have your priorities straight and know what works for you and your family. I want to know more about your animals. Are all those horses yours? You got some great shots of the goats...then again, they are all great shots (as usual). Happy New Year to you, your family and your critters. Did you get on your horse yet?

Lisa ~ I have so enjoyed visiting your blog daily this past year and look forward to all of your future posts, pictures and musings.
I hope your Christmas turned out great and you had no more hurt feelings. My family understands about my critters and the hair, dirt and "accidents" that come along with them.
Merry Christmas to you as well on your wonderful Laughing Orca Ranch! May all the humans and animals be blessed in the coming year! I love your blog, and though I haven't been able to visit much this past year, I resolve to visit my blogger friends more often this coming year! God bless you and keep you all safe and well! Merry Christmas!
Marie
I LOVED your Christmas photos! How many acres do you have? I hope you & your family had a wonderful Christmas! I enjoy reading your blog when I get a chance to get online - hoping to read every post in the coming year!
