Until this past week, Old Man Winter was just playing games with us here in New Mexico. Then he got serious. With wind chill temps down into the single digits, ice, snow and bitter blasting winds, winter is here in full force now. We can experience this kind of weather up here all the way into late May. Spring lasts maybe a week or two, so I can’t spend too much time thinking about it. Right now, I’m just trying to get warm. No matter what I do, I just feel cold.
Check out Macro Monday for close-up views from around the world.

Old Man Winter finally remembered us too... we got snow!! Too bad it all came at once lol
Beautiful shots as always, especially like the first one. And in that last one the flakes look like feathers :)
Gosh, I hope it peters itself out before it gets here. My horses are dropping their winter coats already.
Funny to be looking at snow pix while listening to Take Me Out to the Ballgame :-)
Great shots. I like the last one.
Very nice, Lisa. It is warm here this morning but I am sure it will not last!
Well at least it makes for some great pics. I'm in New Hampshire this a.m. and its a cold rain..:-)
BRRR! Hang in there, spring is one day closer.
Gorgeous capture...the textures in these photos are unreal! Awesome!

Neat photos!
We are on the same page this week. Sorry you always seem to get snow dumped on you, we've been pretty lucky since our last one. We just have alot of rain lately.
Love the first shot the best. It's amazing how snow hangs onto the smallest spots.
brr that does look cold. We got rain today and it's quite mild though I would like more snow for sure.
BRRRRRR that really looks cold...we had spring like weather last week...getting cold again this week...may have a little snow flurry later in the week...
Great photos..
Ooooo...nice photos with the fence! I like!

I think those are some of my favorite pictures that you have taken.Beautiful, just beautiful.
Love the icy pictures, Lisa! Our weather here in Ohio has been pretty nice of late, no snow and freezing weather anyway. Last night and this morning is has been pouring rain of and on but in the mid 40's so I won't complain! :-D

have a wonderful day.
Wow, that looks cold!! We are having thunderstorms and temps almost 60 but it won't last. Back in the 20s by later in the week. Hope you stay warm!
Want my handwarmers that we did not know we had with us during our unscheduled over night Mountian stay??? They dropped out of the emergency kit...I found them on the ground the next morning!!! It sure do look cold there! Do you have any more lessons scheduled??? I think you should get back on again real soon!!!
Burrr!! Great shots though...=)
We woke up to snow this morning, the first to amount to anything for 2010.
Stay Warm!!
You live on the wrong side of the mountain. Great pictures.
Dan
Stay warm - I love the pictures that the snow gives you. They are awesome. Looks like your growing crystals.
<")>><
Brrrr looks like you are pretty chilly over there Lisa, not much better here in Chicago, the latest snow storm is just blowing in.
Bundle up with a soft blankie and a hot cup of tea. Hope it warms up for you soon.
It got colder here today also, but nothing like you're experiencing! No wonder you feel cold no matter what you do!
Nice pictures as always.
I can feel the cold radiating from those pictures! But still - snow is quite photogenic. Love the macros!
All the way till May?!?! OH man I would never survive!! Hope you get warm soon!! We have some UNWANTED winter weather coming this week :(
In love how the frosty snow hang on to the iron frame.
Luckily our snow got washed away yesterday with 3 inches of rain and 60 m.p.h. winds. Hope you warm up soon.
I didn't realize until today you are in the Sandia Mountains. I used to spend many summers with my Grandmother in Albuquerque where my Uncle would take all of us kids camping in the surrounding mountains.
Yep, old man winter has been a monster here in the Ozarks this year. We have a major winter storm movin' in, sounds like we better plan for the power lines to go down here on the Ponderosa. Uck!!!
Have a great day and we'll pray for and early spring. This chick is no snowbunny!!!!
Great shots, it looks like here. We having been staying around -5 for quite awhile now. That's about 28 - 30 or so in proper English. Try to get warm.
And here I was complaining about a little bit of hail! Oh I do not envy you right now! Brrr! Beautiful photos though!

Very COOL ice pictures - I had planned on doing some of those this winter but it hasn't been that cold all winter!
sure is cold at your place lisa!
brrrrrr *shivers
beautiful macros my dear
Love that last pic Lisa! :) Stay warm... we MIGHT get some of that blast headed Oklahoma way... they're just not sure how far north it will go, but since we're right on the KS/OK border, we stand a chance of seeing some of the ugly ice and snow!
My fingers are crossed. But I've already planned indoor activities beginning Thursday. :-)
doesn't it make you wonder how the heck Mother Nature does that with the ice crystals??
