This week’s Sunday Stills Challenge is to share photos of what summer time means to us. Here’s my contribution:
Hiking Together
Sightseeing in Santa Fe, NM
Traveling
Exploring New Places
Hugging Unusual Trees
Letterboxing in the Santa Fe National Forest
Horseback riding on my sweet mare in the Carson National Forest
Relaxing by the Rio Grande River with great views of the Sandia Mountains.
Stunning Southwestern Sunsets (Yes, those skies we’re really that vivid. We had to stop and take photos of these breathtakingly colorful skies. This shot is SOOC, with only my watermark added.)

Holy Crow! That last picture is stunning! You guys do know how to enjoy summer.
Beautiful "summer" shots. Welcome back, you were missed. :)
Beautiful pictures!
Ah, Lisa, so beautiful. This is like the perfect post--it took me from smiles to giggles to oohs and ahhs!
Looks like it's all about family and friends including your 4 legged friends, and what an AMAZING sky!
The colors in that last one are amazing. They don't look real.
WOW! That last shot is AMAZING!!
Love the way your kids enjoy being outside as much as you do.
Was that sunset even more vivid in person? Beautiful and amazing!
Wow that sunset was is amazing. I like your version of summer, sounds like so much fun, and the tree is hilarious!
no wonder the southwest is portrayed with so many colors. That sunset is just gorgeous. i would love to be trail riding at that river-just beautiful! I'll be heading to the SD hills in a couple of weeks!
Great shots of a great summer...with more to come!! Thanks for the smile! :)
You've got to quit posting all these beautiful pictures of New Mexico! People are going to start flocking there to buy vacation houses like they did in Montana. :) Love the pictures. Where is the first one taken? It looks familiar. Your blog makes me so homesick sometimes...
That's good to know that no Photoshopping went into that sunset. It is rare to see the sky that color around here.
Summertime in NM looks like loads of fun!
The unusual tree you hugged....is that an Indian "Thong Tree". Indians would use leather thongs to tie young saplings into a shape like that tree to point in the direction of important things like a water source. There are still several "thong trees" in the Sandias and Manzanos. They aren't advertized so as to protect them from vandals. Did you find one?
Looks like you and the family (and horse) are having a great time this summer. I've always wanted to go to Santa Fe, but haven't made it yet. The pictures are wonderful and that sky is vivid and gorgeous, it looks like someone actually colored it with paints.
Amazing colors in that sunset! I love the photo of the kids in the forest on the trail..excellent!! That tree is also something else! Great job Lisa:)
wow, beautiful Southwest! i love that area though I haven't spent much time there. lovely photos!
