My kidlets and I visited the New Mexico State Fair last week and we saw………………
Sand Sculptures!
And a Rattlesnake display from the Albuquerque Rattlesnake Museum (not the greatest picture since it was taken from behind the glass……but in this case….glass is good!
Check out Sunday Stills to see how others have handled this challenge, too.

Lisa...that is one angry looking beast.....ugh!!!!
The sand art is wonderful!!
Love the sand sculptures. Not sure I could have gotten that close to the snake even with the glass. Great pix, as usual.
I dislike snakes greatly !!! I'm so glad that one is behind glass!
Cool sand sculptures! I've seen things like that on the beaches of Florida not at a fair though.
Love the sculpture- they are fantastic!
But that snake looks mean!
Glad he's not underfoot!
Wow I wonder how they sculpt that sand and theres a lot of texture in that snake.
Skipped the snakes , but those are some amazing sand scuptures!
Wow that snake shot was awesome. It's freaky looking through a lens at a snake even if I do it telephoto at 12 X zoom. They move out of the frame and I freak till I see where they are. Hope that one was behind glass.
i find sand sculpture's so interesting, these are great
p.s that snake is scary! eeep
Loved the sand sculpture, and that snake looked downright mean! :)

Cool sculpture! Really cool!
That sand sculpture blows my mind! The details are crazy!
Glad that nasty snake was behind the glass. They just look so evil to me.
The sand sculptures on the other hand are truly amazing. There are so many talented people(wish I was one of them). Looks like a very nice and different fair.
Excellent...man that is cool!!
....and dead...was the last one?
Been thinking about ya...hope your marr mare its showing signs of improovement.
Could it be saddle fit?
She may very easily changed, since you've ridden her so nicely round and longer. She may have developed and filled out.
Mine does not got the saddle that fit last sumner...it its shocking...I just got it!...but, I'm saving again, and will get a saddlery specialist, this time.
Look up Jochen Sleesse on you tube...saddle fit for life. I learned soooooo much.
Thanks so much for your sincere words Liss. I too am praying wa mare sees the beauty of a soft, level, smooth, windless arena!
In any case...lessons are to be had there,on the ground and in the saddle, from my sis.
You, me and our horses...we all need a new season...of healing and beginnings.
XO Always,
Kac
