Leaving off from where we began………..
My friend Suzanne and I were attending the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and thoroughly enjoying the delicious food, interesting conversations, and gorgeous draft police horses. When all of a sudden we saw the hot air balloons, out on the field, inflating.
We were so excited, but also concerned. The sky was still very cloudy and we could see lightning flashes out in the distance.
Would there be a Mass Ascension?
Yes!!!!!!!!
(Beware! Lots of photos below. I took even more than these. Shocking! But these were my favorites. I think I have a lot of favorites. hehe!)
There were a lot of airplanes and helicopters flying by. Must be neat to be flying in a plane during the hot air balloon fiesta.
Some serious reminders, too. Never forget.
The biggest saguaro I bet you’ve ever seen (Hey Mikey, what’s the biggest saguaro you’ve ever seen while out riding and hiking in Arizona?)
Love is in the air. Wouldn’t it be romantic and sweet if a marriage proposal or an anniversary wish was placed on this balloon?
Two for the price of one!
She’ll cast a spell on you!
Three balloons in the sky are worth two on the ground!
This one’s called, “In The Buff”
I don’t think they ride in the buff. Might be fun, though.
I like the balloon shadow, don’t you?
The Flag: “Help! I’m stuck, get me outta here!”
One Balloon, Two Balloon, Three Balloon, Four…………..
The original Gecko!
I really love all the different layers in this photo, sky, clouds, mesa, houses, trees, all separated by shadows, lines and color…….even Uncle Sam.
I think she just threw salt over her shoulder.
I hope you all aren’t getting bored with all the hot air balloon photos. I know I took a lot, but I just love their beauty, artistic creativity, and fun. I’m posting mostly for my family and for Ed (Hey, buddy, maybe next year, eh?) because they really wanted to attend Balloon Fiesta this year. For everyone, make your plans to come out next October, and we’ll have some fun!

Thats neat. I think I like the witch best. Shes funny. Is her cat stuck between her cheeks? It sure looks like it LOL!
Excellent shots...wild balloons.
What awesome photos! I wish I could have been there to see that in person! I bet it was amazing!
Thanks for sharing all of those pictures they are amazing. I cannot wait to see them in person, hopefully next year.
Fantastic photos! I never get tired of seeing them.
Did the weather really play a factor this year? I heard there were several storms...
Maybe the witch is throwing salt in hope that her broom will inflate soon?
That would be an awesome trip to go see the hot air balloons. Thanks for sharing.
Great, especially since we didn't go down to the Fiesta this year -- no guests to take.
The American Flag balloon has always been one of my favorites.

I can't believe that all the years I lived in New Mexico I never went to see the balloons. Great photos.
Love the cat on the back of the broom with the witch.
must have been a wonderful breakfast. Love all the bright colors!
Thanks so much for taking me to Albuquerque in October. Years ago we visited our ranch in October and arrived at the Sunport just as the last night was beginning. Everyone told us where to go to see the ascension but I guess the weather had been really bad so it didn't happen. When we got there there was hardly a balloon person left standing....since then we have a family joke that all that balloon stuff is just a hoax, totally make believe since WE didn't see anything!
That's a lot of hot air!
A great display of imagination and color taken by a great photographer.
