Feeling Warm and Fuzzy Inside

(Koala photo taken at the Rio Grande Zoo)

I feel it is very important to tell all of my wonderful blogger friends, who left me such kind and supportive comments, on my Sunday Stills post, thank you.

I didn’t create that post looking for comments telling me I’m beautiful. In fact I still don’t see what many of you all said you saw, while looking at my self-portraits. I still see a monster nose and spaghetti-thin lips. But thanks to you sweet folks, I see that I actually do have some pretty features, too, namely my eyes. In fact, if I just stare at my eyes in those pictures, I can almost…almost ignore my big shnozz. haha!

Really, though, I was floored by all of your generous comments. When I posted, I was just hoping no one would say anything mean or tease me, like the bullies did in school. But you all surprised me and put me at ease, and said the nicest things to me, that I think I have ever heard.

And the cherry on top was finding out at the end of the day that I was one of the winners of the Sunday Stills contest!

So I just want to tell all of you, I appreciate you all so much!

Thank you from the bottom of my warm and fuzzy heart.

XOXOXOXOX

Congrats on your win! Love, love, love the pic of you and Apache in this post!

You earned it Lisa! You are pretty, everyone looks at themselves in the mirror and hates certain features about themselves(unless your deluded or extremely vain). Make sure you look in the mirror today and tell yourself that you are pretty ok?

There are a lot more important things than what our society judges as attractive. You look to me like a genuinely nice person.

I want to see more pictures of you and Apache mare though!

Isn't it strange how differently we see ourselves versus how others see us. You are most definitely not alone, I hate being photographed which drives my husband nuts as he is always trying to include me in his pictures! FYI - I think you look great :)

I missed the photos the first time around, but I have to say, you did a fantastic job, your beauty shines through every shot!

I am really working hard to stop seeing flaws when I look in the mirror. (Seriously - that one eye is SO much smaller than the other And what is up with my crooked smile? Eww!) It's a tough habit to break - but one worth shattering!

We are who we are and everything we are makes us beautiful. Congrats on the win!

Congrats! You are, along with everything else, a very honest photographer, and that's important in portraits. Doubly so in self-portraits, I'd think!

Every time I see pictures of myself from 5 or 10 years back, I think, "I was so down on my looks then, but I was kind of pretty!" And I try to make myself appreciate how young and healthy I look right now.

Just think how awesome your 75-year old self will find these portraits, lol!

I went and checked out your pictures again. I didn't say anything, but you look just like Glen Close! You could be a movie star! lol

Ooohhh, I get that insecurity left over from all the nasty comments made in school. Doesn't seem to matter how old you get. I had silver front teeth (caps) and thought they are long gone, I still have a hard time doing a toothy smile. But I've learned to see myself reflected back through my friends' eyes. I'm so glad you are taking in the compliments (that can be tough too).
