Only Three More Months………….

Until summer is over……and….America’s Favorite Trail Horse airs on HRTV!!!!

Check out this new promo for the show. My friend Theresa and her amazing Hungarian Warmblood/Lipizzaner gelding take center stage at the very end of this promo…..doing what they do best! You just gotta see it to believe it!

I’m so excited for all the contestants, but especially for Theresa and Zeema!!! And I can’t wait to watch the show and vote for my favorite horses!

~~~~~~~~~~
Oh and speaking about summer being over. I’d be more than ok with that, if today was any sign of what the rest of the summer is going to be like here in the mountains of Central New Mexico. Today we had records temps of 90F degrees…..the last time we had temps like that on this particular day of May, it was 2001!
This is just not normal, folks! We live above 7,000ft elevation. We’re used to cool summers, and snow in late May is not rare up here. Last summer we didn’t even have to turn our swamp cooler on, even in July and August, but today I was wishing we did. We were roasting! But with the high winds we couldn’t even open all the windows because of the dust and sand storms! We’re so dry here with no rain in over 7 months. Fire Danger is a serious threat!
We could use any kind of moisture. Snow on Memorial Day weekend has happened here and is something we mountain folks consider normal.
But 90 Freaking Degrees with 50-60 mph wind gusts all day are not normal!!!!! gah!
I don't have that channel either on our cable (Time Warner)...is it available online? I would love to see that show!
Eeek! I know when I was in Oklahoma they haven't had rain in 9 months. I guess it's rained a tiny bit now but it's still dryer there than in the dust bowl in the 30's.
Well Alaska isn't cooperating weather wise either! One minute sunny and 70 and the next minute 40 and rainy!
Have a great holiday!!
Just think back to the deep freeze in February. 90 degrees is better than all that snow and ice, carrying water to the animals etc. right? Of course I love hot weather, but I haven't even been that bothered by the wind this year. As long as it isn't snow, ice and sub zero temps I am happy! :-)
Every time I click on that video the browser locks up, so I can't watch it. It snowed last night and is hailing right now here in Nevada. We should spread it around.
Oh how I wish I could send some of our wet weather your way! It snowed to the west of us last night! It is only in the 40's for our high today! The weather is very depressing! =/ The alfalfa that we grow is really starting to suffer as well...slow growth, too much water, not enough heat, etc!
I don't think we get that channel, so I hope they have an on-line option for watching. Can't wait to see all of the riders and horses! =)
We don't get RFDTV or any horse channel for that matter, up here! I wish we did. Although I just recently found out that our local sports station does play Clinton Anderson's Downunder Horsemanship. I have been recording them.
The weather has been bad just about everywhere. I so wish I could send you my rain!!! I know you need it, and we sure don't want it! Hopefully the heat was just a fluke and it won't get any hotter!
I remember visiting one Memorial Day weekend and it hailed so badly the state had to bring snow plows out to clear the roads near Corona. Bad accidents...like driving on ball bearings.
We have been pretty warm here (which is not common in May and very windy!) Mother nature is having a rough time this year.
The weather here is just ridiculous too. We're in the 90's and humid of course. You just can't stay dry. You sound worse though with the sand storms that sucks.
Anyway, looks like a fun show featuring all kinds of trail horses. Someday someone has got to explain to me why it's a good idea to spin a horse in circles for no good reason. That would make me dizzy and I'm guess some horses could get dizzy too.
Our weather down south is just as weird soooo dry we've broken a record and the WIND is driving me a little batty!
