Last weekend, while riding in San Lorenzo Canyon during the Poker Ride, I noticed a beautiful peach-colored section of cliffs off in the distance.
When I got back home and posted these photos on our New Mexico trail riding group on FB, D, left a comment that he calls that beautiful landmark: Spa Cliffs.
D added that he does go on rides to that location, but he considers it one of his more technically challenging, longer trail rides, so he doesn’t take people there that often. I left a comment, sort of joking, “So, when are we going”? And a day later he replied that he was organizing a full day trail ride to Spa Cliffs the following weekend. Would I be going? Yes!
Well, this weekend is the weekend, and tomorrow is the day, that we’re riding to Spa Cliffs!

Good for you! Take lots of pictures for us!
You've really got your "ride" on, Cowgirl! Why do they call them Spa Cliffs? Is it like a spa there? Is there a hot springs...steam...that is causing the discoloration? Be SAFE! Have fun!! Looking forward to the pictures.
I can't wait to hear more about the ride! Have fun!
Oh my! You really are back in the saddle. Glory be. :)
Look forward to seeing the pics of the ride. You'll be on the gray again? Between her and your other recent rides, you have become a very confident rider. That's awesome... I remember the Baby Doll days. Good for you !
Sure looks pretty, cant wait to hear all about it!
What a beautiful place. I would want to ride all day! blessings,Kathleen
Well...if it is long and technically challenging...count me in too!!! Unless I can help it (;0)
that is pretty much all I want to ride anymore! Good for you for cowgirling up to do it...we expect fabulous pictures!
BTW...the equine herpes virus in CA is in my neck of the woods. We have a closed stables...no horses in but we can take our horses on trail rides if we avoid contact with horses not from our stables!
