I was in town this morning and took a photo of something I’ve been very excited about…….
Our brand new Tractor Supply Co. Store!!!
The Tractor Supply building construction is coming along! I've been watching eagerly since they first broke ground 3 months ago.
This one is located less than 100 feet from I-40 (you can see I-40 at the top of the map) and about a couple hundred feet from Historic Route 66 (at the bottom of the map).
"Ground was broken on the new Edgewood, NM complex at 5 Marietta Court on Jan. 30, 2012. When finished in June, the 19,097-square-foot complex will include a fenced outdoor area. Edgewood was selected due to the large number of ranchers, horse owners and hobby farmers in the area, all of whom would be likely to partake in the products available"
Tractor Supply Co. has been in New Mexico since 2007 and the Edgewood, NM store will be it's 7th in the state! My house is exactly 5.2 miles from this brand new Tractor Supply!!
I bet you can guess where I’ll be shopping in June!

We have 5 Feed Stores, not including our Walmart which also sells livestock feed, all within 15 miles of us here. And with Tractor Supply, that will make 6! It's kind of crazy to have so many. But perhaps this will cause the prices to be lower with all of the additional competition? Sure hope so!

I felt the same way when Murdoch's opened just about 5 miles from us. We also have a number of feed stores and tack stores to choose from. But I didn't see price changes. I think that's because only one of the stores has Purina feeds, another has Nutrena and so forth. So, they aren't always in direct competition. I can only get my feed supplement at a vet supply store. So.... I visit almost all of them and get to see everything they have :))

I LOVE TSC... we have a choice of three of them near me, some are more "farmer" oriented, others are more "rural homeowner" oriented... but I love the store, love the people and LOVE CHICK DAYS!!!!

I worked at a Wilco for a year before I got sick.Thats one of our big farm stores. Our daughter works there now.
We have Wilco, Coastal/ Big R around here and some small stores.
I am spoiled now, a small store opened up 3 miles from us, and I live a mile from the dairy where I get my hay! Good for gas use!! LOL
We don't have Tractor Supply in NV, but we do have Big R stores which are much the same but on a smaller scale.
We had 4 feed stores and Walmart when the Big R store opened here. Feed prices came down a bit, but Big R still has the best prices! One feed store went out of business!

WE are also getting a Tractor Supply here in Gallup as well. They aren't "building" ours, they are taking over the old Wal-mart location that is empty after Wal-Mart built a new building.
It's going to be an AWESOME addition to Gallup as there is only one feed store of any size in the entire Cibola county and one Major feed store and a couple Smaller ones in Mckinley County. Maybe now I"ll finally be able to find stuff locally instead of driving to the Big R in Farmington or ordering online. You think you're excited with yours? I've been dancing around for days ever since I found out we were getting one also.
