I came up with a great idea to have a very special, silly treasure hunt during the Equine Games Day at 4 Winds Equestrian Center. I went to one of our local Thrift Stores and bought 40 bras for 49 cents a piece, and decided on a great name for our new equine game: The Boulder Holder Treasure Hunt.
And everyone was pretty excited about it…and raring to go!
Richard was especially excited and had quite the competitive spirit!
This cowboy’s handsome Fjord/Appy horse didn’t really see the point in searching for women’s undergarments.
But at the end of the count down, all the contestants took off at a canter while eyeing all of the trees, stumps and shrubs they rode past.
Some grabbed the bras while mounted and some hopped off to pull the bra off the tree.
Some riders rode together, even though they all knew that if a bra was sighted, it was each man or woman for themselves!
It was important to look high and low.
While the contestant riders were off searching for bras, my friends Colleen, Craig, Karen and myself waited up on the Viewing Platform above the Eventing Field, while I took photos, and Karen’s horse, Rio begged for some of Colleens’ Cheetos.
Karen seemed a little alarmed that her precious Rio might eat a Cheeto, so she quickly offered a healthier NickerMakers.
Of course, Colleen is a Grandmother, and knows how to spoil humans and critters alike……..
Rio sure did like those Cheetos!
And before we knew it, time was up!
And the riders started coming back loaded with their treasures!
My friends Dita on the left and Linda on the right.
Some, like my friend Barb, were getting delirious from the heat, and did their own version of a Native American post-hunt whoop!
Barb and her husband Barry were pretty darn proud of their undergarment treasures, but Barb’s horse Alex and Barry’s mule Jacob seemed embarrassed by it all.
And some of the rider contestants took this unique opportunity to try on a few bras for fit and comfort.
Richard never lost his excitement the entire day!
But his patient horse was just hoping all the silliness would all be over soon. (“Seriously, did you really just make me gallop all over the place looking for human female undergarments??”)
Colleen and I tallied up everyone’s bras, with the help of photo-bomber, Jacob the Mule.
And we announced the First Place Winners!!
And the Second Place Winners!!
And finally, the Third Place Winners!!!
We headed back to the stables and I finally got to meet my friend Linda’s husband, who is a regular frequent buyer of my hen’s fresh eggs every month.
So Craig and I posed for a photo to mark this special occasion.
Linda and Craig are way too much fun!
Craig said he wanted to try on a bra for his Moobs. (His Man Boobs!)
At the end of the Boulder Holder Treasure Hunt, we discovered that we were still missing 4 bras, so this generous cowboy offered to head back out and search for them.
And he came back with 3 of the missing bras! Hooray!
And of course, he offered to model them for all of us.
But his poor horse seemed mortified!…………………..
And it was easy to understand why!
But it was a great day and everyone had loads of fun!
