Oak Flats Loop Ride on a Beautiful Fall Day

On another beautiful Autumn New Mexico day, I organized a ride at Oak Flats/Pine Flats with four of my riding companions.

Yvonne, Susie and Roxanne below. (from left to right)

And Renee, too.

And me!

Everyone met at my house and then followed me to the trail head parking area.

Apache waiting patiently beside my trailer.

After saddling up, we headed on down the trail.

Since the Oak Flats/Pine Flats trails are basically in my backyard, I know them well. So, I planned out a fun loop ride that would take us several hours and include a leisurely lunch stop, too.

Along the way, we ran into a couple fellow horseback riders that I know on Facebook, but had not met in person yet.

It was great to finally meet them in person, and their handsome horses, so we spent a few minutes visiting, before we continued our rides.

The day was absolutely gorgeous and the trails and nature were beautiful!

Eventually we arrived at our lunch spot at Deadman CG.

This is such a wonderful place for trail lunch with lots of trees for shade and to tie horses, picnic tables, and even a restroom!

Yvonne, Roxanne, Susie and Renee enjoying a wonderful lunch beneath the trees, surrounded by our faithful steeds.

We know how to do a trail lunch in style!
Cheers!

After a leisurely lunch, we mounted back up and headed back out onto the trails.

Apache and I waiting for everyone to mount up, while she enjoys a snack.

After the ride, we let our horses enjoy some grass near the parking area.

We had a great ride on a beautiful day with perfect weather!

Life is Good!!
