In September 2017, myself and a few other riding companions drove up to Tres Piedras, NM to spend the weekend at Taos Horse Getaways (THG).
THG has several spacious, sturdy corrals set up beside the ranch cabin.
Apache, my One-Eye Wonder Horse set up in her corral. THG even had the water buckets shiny clean and full of fresh water!
After we unloaded all our stuff into the cabin, we saddled up and went for an evening ride around the ranch. I was happy to be in the saddle after a several hour long, lengthy drive.
The ranch has one long loop to ride, but there is a gate into some BLM land that begs to be explored.
Apache and I climbing up onto some boulders to pose for a photo.
The rock formations were truly impressive and interesting.
There were no trails, so we just blazed our own trails and had a blast exploring.
Lots of climbing.
Apache and I climbed up to a ridgetop and peered over towards the east. Taos in the distance.
A lot of beautiful ponderosa trees to ride among.
My happy to be riding out in nature selfie!

Riding back towards the cabin.
One of the camping sites with a corral and covered shelter.
The cabin, where were staying, directly ahead on the left.
Our rigs parked beside the corrals.
Apache set up in her corral for the night.
Afterwards, we came back to the cabin and got ready for dinner.
A stop at the fancy outhouse.....
Before dinner, I decided to experience the outdoor shower.....
Very spacious and clean inside.
Even a hot-water on demand system!
Let me just tell you that outdoor shower was one of the highlights of my weekend at THG! There is something so relaxing, peaceful and refreshing to bathe outdoors!
After my shower, it was time for dinner.
We ate well!!
