Spoiled Llamas

Noticed last night that the wind was blowing the snow flakes closer into the barn, leaving the llamas only about 4-5 feet of dry kushing, chewing-cud space. And with the flakes blowing in, they were landing on the llamas' wool, so I was concerned about the snow and frost melting and causing hypothermia when it drips onto their skin.

I decided to move both llamas into the main area of the barn, where it is always dry and much warmer. It's also where we store all of the hay, too. Happy llamas.
And I remembered to scoop up some of their llama beans (aka~llama poo) to make a dung pile exactly where I want them to go potty. (I love that llamas have potty habits so much like cats. Makes it so much easier to control where they go and clean up the the messes, too.)

So, with their electric water buckets, feed pails, and tall stacks of hay to munch on, they are in llama dreamland! And I won't worry about them as much as I did last night. Hopefully I be able to catch up on my sleep tonight, too. I bet the llamas will sleep well.

I put down a thick layer of straw for both of them. Cataleya and Catlinite were just tickled to have access to all of the yummy hay. Catlinite also seemed relieved to be dry and out of the snow, too.

The Koi seem to be doing pretty good with the metal panel laid over the top of their pond. And the pump fountain is keeping the water from freezing solid and allowing snow to cover the surface.
