It's been a challenge to make any real headway in completing the building our hen house and chicken coop because of John only being available on weekends. In addition we've had snow, rain and bone-chilling wind to contend with, too.
Actually the rain was a big help in softening up our clay soil so that I could get some post holes dug and posts buried for the fencing and gate. So, we are slowly getting everything done, but the chickens are more than ready to move into their new home!
Dedicated John working on the chicken house roof, in the snow.Brrrr!

John snuck this photo of me digging a hole for the posts to support the gate. I look silly in my sweatpants, clogs, and fuzzy hand-knit hat! Notice that Casa De Pollo now has a metal roof.
