So, I thought I'd post a montage of one of our special ranch critters: Moon Pie, and how he spends his days here on the ranch.
Moon Pie still spends his nights here in the house in a large rabbit cage. First thing in the morning he calls out for his bottle of milk. After a vigorous breakfast, he does a few 'laps' on his Stairmaster. Up he goes!

And down he goes!

He doesn't just hop down the stairs either. He does hand (or is that hoof?) stands and adds in a few twists and flips, too. He is such a great start to our day.

Moon Pie is curious about everything and likes everyone. There isn't a critter around that he won't try to make friends with, including our cats and guinea pigs.

And then it's time for more jumping!

Boing! It's a Moon Jump!

Jackson is a serious animal lover and takes good care of the critters around here. This is Javalina our Manx cat and Coconut, our Abysinnian guinea pig.

Then were off to explore and play outside. Jones, our newest critter around here, is already quite fond of Moon Pie and immediately upon meeting him, just fell in love. Moon Pie enjoys Jones, too.

First thing they do is greet each other with a head rub.

And each time they see each other, they are back to those head rubs. Jones also likes to rub his body all over Moon Pie, which Moon doesn't mind at all.

Sometimes, Moon Pie gets really playful and does his little dance before he gives a head rub. Some may think that he is actually head butting, but he doesn't hit hard when he makes contact. He really is just rubbing heads. He does the same to my legs in the morning and evening while he impatiently waits for me to warm up his bottle. It feels really good, too, like a massage! hehe

Jenna is also a serious animal lover and is very fond of Moon Pie and Jones. A three way snuggle is a beautiful thing.

What do I comment on first, all the photos are so cute. Moon Pie mountain climbing the stairs. Jackson or should I say Dr. Doolittle with all the critters in his lap, and that guinea pig face, too cute! The sweetest of all is Moon Pie and Jones and their head rub, then Jenna joining in. I love your photos!
Fun pictures. I'm going to have to make a request for more guinea pig photos. I'm a big fan of guinea pigs and rabbits, but developed a strange allergy to them in my adulthood. So, I have to visit pet stores and enjoy them from a distance through glass. I used to substitute teach in a first-grade classroom that had a guinea pig named Squeakers, and I could barely make it through the day with my allergy symptoms. So, the teacher started taking Squeakers home when she knew she would need me to substitute in advance.
Speaking of winds, we went shopping yesterday since the winds were too crazy for us to do much of anything else. We pulled into a parking space and just as we each opened our car doors, a violent gust of wind ripped through our car and tore the doors from our grasp. One door hit the car next to us, so now we get to pay for the other driver's body work. Too bad the wind can't whip out its wallet and take responsibility. We are always so careful about not banging our car doors into other cars, so we don't exactly deserve this problem. But then again the other driver didn't deserve to have her car dented either. I've decided no more driving anywhere on windy days. It turned out to be a much more expensive shopping trip than we anticipated.
Aw, I love the head rubs! That three-way cuddle at the bottom is adorable!
Wow, you are brave letting little moon pie run up and down your (carpeted) stairs...aren't you worried about goat potty-accidents?
These pictures are so sweet! They bring tears to my eyes. Seeing Moon Pie and Jones together is beautiful. And your manx cat is gorgeous! Can I come live with you? I simply adore all your animals.
Oh how I want a Moon Pie! Love your blog, will be back to keep up with your family and critters!
Moon Pie is so cute. I can't wait until my trio are old enough for us to get a few goats. (have to wait until they can help take care of them)
Then I can quit blogging about the cows! Ha ~
Tanya
I love that little guy! Goats seem so playful and friendly ... I can't wait to live at a place where we can have some. Your kids look like they're so good with the animals--that's awesome!
Jones' name should be Lucky like my cat. I think he's even luckier than my cat!
Great story and pics.
(chanting, I can't have goats, I can't have goats, I can't have goats!!!)
Hi sugar creek stuff!
Thanks for such a nice comment. I'm glad you enjoy all my photos, too.
What a total bummer, Nuzzling Muzzles, about that awful wind ruining your day and shopping experience. I'm so sorry. But I can relate, too. I keep having to repair things around here that have been ripped out of our hands by the wind, especially the doors on our chicken house. ugh!
I'll be so happy when this wind dies down.
I know you will be, too.
Oh, and what a drag that you have to deal with piggy allergies. We have 4 guinea pigs now and I'll try to post more piggy photos, just for you.
Gotta love those piggy lips! hehe
Hi Farm girl-dk,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a nice comment. Moon Pie is such a sweetie!
And yes, we have to keep an eye on Moon Pie, but once we take him outside to do his business, he's usually accident free for at least 15 minutes afterwards.
Also, he tends to want to pee or poo on flat surfaces. The stairs are not wide enough for him to spread out and get into position for pee-time. hehe
If he poos on our tile floor, it's simple to sweep up, too...just itty bitty goat berries.
Hi Christy,
You are just so darn sweet! I could just eat you right up! heheh
Thanks for visiting and leaving such warm and friendly comments. Sure you can come live here with us anytime you want!
Hi Manerva!
Thanks for stopping in and leaving such a friendly comment. Please do come visit again soon!
Hi Tanya,
Cows are great fun to blog about, too. They have such interesting and beautiful faces and seem to lead such a calm and simple life.
Don't wait for the kids to take care of goats. If you want them, just get them. They are simple to care for and are wonderful ith kids, too. My goats just bring a softness to my heart and a smile to my face.
Hi Meg,
I think you're right about Jones. He's very lucky and we are very glad to have him around.
(you can have goats, you can have goats, you CAN!) hehe
Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait for yout to have goats, too! They really are fun to have around. My kids treat them more like dogs than goats. hehe
Hi CeeCee,
I don't know what happened...but the following reply was for you:
