The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy by William Shakespeare. It was one of his earlier plays, believed to have been written between 1590 and 1594. The play begins with a framing device in which a drunkard is deceived into thinking he is a nobleman who then watches the "play".
The play depicts a nobleman, Petruchio, who marries an outspoken, intelligent, and bad-tempered shrew named Katherina. Petruchio manipulates and gently "tames" her until she is obedient to his will.
Cast:
Petruchio:
My neighbor friend, Val
Katherina: Baby Doll, the horse
The Drunkard: Me (hahah!)
Borrowed White Steed: Nadia
Petruchio starts off with familarizing Katherina to the Half Breed Halter/Bit. Katherina is not all that fond of it's confines and control.

She spends much time pondering the meaning of these changes in her life and the strong Petruchio attempting to bend her will.

She listens and contemplates Petruchio's commands.

She wiggles and shifts the metal within her mouth, trying to find a way to be free of the control it holds on her.

Petruchio sits patiently until Katherina finally understands what is expected of her.

Katherina begins to succumb to the taming, accepting Petruchio's leadership.

Katherina looking towards the Drunkard who is watching over her and Petruchio. Katherina wonders if her taming is what makes the Drunkard smile so giddily.

Finally realizing that taking control and running back to the barn is not as relaxing and enjoyable as obeying her rider, Katherina begins to understand.

Katherina accepts her taming and now wonders when she can next enjoy a relaxing jaunt down the lane.

And the Drunkard on her borrowed white steed smiles widely, dreaming of many future trail rides together on her lovely painted mare, Katherina.

Stay Tuned to see the dreams of the Drunkard and Katherina finally come true!

I'm having too much fun reading your blog now and searching for WOTD and then searching for their meanings.
See we are both doing educational things on our blogs. Who knew it could be this much fun?

I'm okay being Petruchio, as long as everyone knows I wasn't cruel or mean!
