I first learned how to knit using round looms in September 2006. Soon after, I bought my own set of round looms, called Knifty Knitters and set to work creating hats, which only took a few hours to make.

Very quickly, my kids caught the knitting bug, too, and set off to make their own knitted hats, too.
By December 2006, I had bought a rake loom, or straight loom, and started making scarves and potholders. For Christmas that year I knitted 14 scarf/hat sets for gifts. I thought of them as art and decided each of my creations must have a creative name.
This little hat, just knitted yesterday, for my daughter, I named Fandago Flamingo.

This hat is so soft, fluffy and warm, and looks cute on my little girl. Don't you think?

Jenna asked me to include this photo of her special cat, Javelina, our sweet Manx kitty. She is completely devoted to Jenna and is never far from her side. If Jenna leaves the house, Javelina cries and paces until Jenna returns. Every night, Javelina sleeps wrapped tightly around Jenna's head, with her furry cheek next to my daughter's cheek. Javelina seems to think this hat is a snuggle toy for her and has tried to carry it off to sleep on it.

So, is anyone else knitting, crocheting, or doing crafts to make gifts for the holidays right now?
Happy Knitting!

A very pretty hat for a very pretty girl. With a very pretty cat. Who needs its own hat. Get busy Lisa and knit a cat hat that matches Jenna's. I wanna see pictures of them both wearing their hats!!! ;)
Your daughter is beautiful and looks absolutely adorable in her new hat. I crochet and do stichery. This year I have been finishing up an afghan I started long ago so I haven't made any Christmas presents. Hopefully next year I will make some.
Lovely litle Jenna! She looks pretty and warm. Very cute pic with Javelina- I love her smile!
Cute hat and an even cuter girl!
Cute girl and cat,oh and I like the hat too. ;0)
I am finishing up a teddy bear for my new neice. I'm also working on a scarf for me. And I have a small list of items to knit and make for family. There is no way I will get them all done. I do this every year. I need to start in January in 2009! Then I could get my list done. I post my crafts on my other blog and all my knitted/crochet stuff on ravelry.
LOL, My 19yr old daughter forced me into the same type of knitting! I'm still working on Stephen's super long scarf he wants! LOL
So cute!!! As you know I am a new convert to the looms as well. I'm not sure If I'll be knitting for christmas gifts or not.....I've got ALOT of work to do this next month and 1/2!!
I sew pillows, scarves, ear warmers, and stuff like that for my family members and friends out of fleece! They're soooooooooo warm!!!
Your DD looks so cute in her Fandago hat with her kitty! I can't knit or sew anyting, but I do draw and paint (digitally).
...I have to commend you on your post "Hail to the Chief"- I couldn't read/ view all the articles you linked to because it would have just made me even more annoyed/ scared :-o I saw a lady yesterday with an idolistic type T-shirt- it made him look like a Rock Star :-/
Share the wealth- all we can hope for now is they share in the WORK:-x
The hat is adorable just like your daughter and her cat. I've never actually tried knitting like that. I do it the traditional way, also crocheting, needlepoint, sewing etc. It looks interesting.
Great hat! You can tell Jenna I think she looks cute in it. I was hoping to make a quilt for my brother by Christmas, but still haven't finished the Storm at Sea bed quilt I've been working on for a couple of years now.
Jenna is a cutie!!!
Hey...I could sure use a hat like that for Christams...hint, hint...lol!!!
Nice hat! I am not to the point of knitting yet, but I am still working on turning our sheep's fleece into yarn. If I don't work faster it will be time to shear them again before I've finished with these fleeces!
Great pictures! Jenna's a beauty.
It's funny, our cat, Lucky used to sleep on my daughter's head----all wrapped around the tip of her head. We called it the "Cat Hat". She usually had to remove him because she got too hot and he purred too loudly for her to sleep.
Really cute hat! I've never used a round loom, but have seen them. My daughter recently wanted to learn to knit (with needles) and Mom taught her, but she's still shaky with it. I like to crochet but don't have time for it these days....would like to get back to it, though. The round loom looks like fun! What a sweet kitty! Tell Jenna I enjoyed seeing her and her cat on the blog!

Jenna looks so cute in that brightly colored hat. Loved the cat photo too. You can tell that they really love each other.
Nice hat! I need to get back to making my crochet animals, they are going to be Christmas presents this year. I have 4 more to do and not much time left!
