The Birthday Girls, Baby Doll and Nadia.
Nadia says, “It’s my birthday and I can…stick my tongue out if I want to…nah, nah!”
Time to make the cakes!
- Sweet Feed
- Oats
- Shredded Carrots
- Molasses
- Powdered Sugar (To help shape cakes~Optional)
Cakes for Annie, Nadia and Scout.
Baby Doll’s Birthday Cake!
The table was prepared and seating arranged.
Treats were laid out for horses and humans.
The barn was festively decorated.
Baby Doll waited patiently for the festivities to begin.
(Yes it was snowing….….in April. Here in the mountains at 7,000 ft, Spring weather is unpredictable.)
Is it time for the party to start yet?
There was socializing.
Is it time for the party to start yet?
It’s time to don the party hats. Scout’s fit his personality well.
Annie wasn’t sure she wanted to wear a party hat, but with some friendly introductions……………………………..
She decided a party hat was fun to wear.
I’m getting tired of waiting, guys. The cake will spoil if we don’t hurry. I’m 26 yrs old today, but by the time we get around to celebrating…..I’ll be 36!
Time for a photo of the other birthday girl.
(Please excuse the Michelin Woman next to the horse. It’s difficult to look cute when you’re cold and wet. What is that saying? “Cold nose…warm heart?)
Enough pictures already! Blah! Let’s get this party started!
Time for Party Games! An equine’s favorite game? Bobbing for Apples!
(Annie didn’t like the look of all the horse slobber inside the bucket so she decided she wanted her apple, in-hand instead.) The horses also enjoyed gazing at and playing with bubbles, blown by Jackson, for equine entertainment. Unfortunately, no photos, as Val and I were too busy enjoying wine and carrot cake. hehe
Time for Birthday Cake!!! Along with the singing of the Birthday Song, of course!
And now some birthday cake for the other guests.
Baby Doll says: “Wanna share?”
Scout says: “Ummmm. No.”
Annie’s turn.
Scout and Nadia say, “Will you share with us, Annie?”
Annie says, “No. I’m eating for two, don’t you remember?”
(Annie’s due date is less than 2 months away!)
Time for the humans to enjoy some cake and treats, too. While they munched on yummy carrot cupcakes, popcorn and sipped Sangria, the horses rested from all the fun.
Some rested a little more than others………….
There were gifts to open and laughter to share.
Then it was time to pack up and say goodbye.
Baby Doll says, “This is not my stall. I want my stall….now”
We all just want to say, “Thanks for all of your wonderful birthday wishes and for helping us celebrate Nadia and Baby Doll’s Birthdays!”
We hope you’ll join us again after Annie’s foal is born, when we plan to have another fun equine party……..a Baby Shower!
Check out Val's blog over at Fantastyk Voyage to see some more photos from the barn party, along with very funny captions.

OH my! Look at all the fun you had! The pictures turned out really great!
Lisa, I am laughing so hard right now! I now know where to go when I need a good laugh after a very stressful week!
I just love the birthday party! That is just so awesome! I think everyone, horse and human had a great time, wish I could have been there! I can't wait til the next one! A baby shower! Yeah!
You two girls are so crazy and fun! I love it. Happy Birthday to the equine. Good times.
That was crazy! You guys had so much fun! How many humans were you all in all?
That is both nutty and cute! Looks like they really enjoyed the treats and don't appear one bit fazed by odd human antics, like hats!
That looked like so much fun that I want a horse, but I don't think it would work out in the suburbs. Do they like garages? I guess not, besides, I don't ride.
You girls sure know how to throw a good party!!! What cute pictures and a great way to spend the afternoon with horses and a good friend!
it looks like a great time was had by all...wonderful shots of the b-day party ^..^
thanks for sharing 'their' special day with us.
hugs to them and YOU

Looks like a great party! I love carrot cake.
What a blast! I love all the beautiful horse muzzles. Jackson was a super party supervisor - and I can see that you and Val thoroughly enjoyed yourselves, even before the wine! Thanks for the link to Val's share in the party post.

Jane and Gilly
I thought I saw what looked like a bottle of spirits in the picture of the presents for the horses. You probably needed it to warm you up. Thank goodness for those hats and scarves you've been knitting. Hey! Since you sent me my cap, I tried my hand at knitting again. It's been a struggle, but fun. I'll have all the moves memorized soon.
What a fun way to introduce new obstacle and games to your "kids"! They had fun and you sure did with that sangria.LOL My motto is always drink when you ride!
Happy birthday!!!
You're a funny lady! Glad you all had such a nice time... Loving the music, very creative! :D LOL
Happy Birthday Girls!
LOL. How fun! Happy birthday BD and Nadia!
Oh, I loved that...very festive and Nadia with her tongue sticking out, periodically so, letting us know she was having more fun than we are looking in on them, it seemed!
Thanks for the invite sweetie!
YOU DO DESERVE the "INTREPID RIDERS FACTION" award...riding in the snow and making a comeback!
Now that was cute !!!
Looks like you all had a wonderful time, especially the horses.
You two are too sweet for having such a wonderful celebration for those horses
The tongue-sticking-out photos are the BEST!
