I bet you’re confused now, eh? Well, seeing as I’ve been treated really well and gifted by many blog buddies, I figured it was time to pay it forward a little bit. Quite a while ago I participated in Gail of At the Farm Pay It Forward contest and a little while later I jumped in with Grammy of The Empty Nester for her Pay It Forward contest.
Gail sent me a cute grey kitty shelf sitter that I posted about a few months ago, and it currently adorns my bookshelf. Grammy recently sent me a handmade toilet paper roll cover…….that my daughter has decided makes a cuter hat instead.
And anything she wears, she must try on her kitty, too.
Thanks Grammy! You’ve sure made my daughter and I laugh a lot recently. And it does look pretty on the toilet paper roll, too.

So, now I’d like to do my duty of paying it forward and would like to run a little silly contest to go along with it.
And yes, it involves bovines. Longhorns to be exact.
Who me?
Yes, you.
And you, too!
Ummm. Looks like someone’s in trouble.
The Number 86 isn't such a great number to be branded with if you’re a cow. gah!
Long horns really do come in handy if your butt gets itchy.
Ok. I betcha you’re starting to wonder what this crazy Longhorn contest is all about, eh? Well, here ya go.
You watch this video below. Laugh your hiney off (don’t forget this step!), and then leave me a comment telling me what ‘odd activity’ caught your eye (if you were paying attention).
And for bonus points, tell me the color of the cow that was doing all the ‘talking’.
The first 4 bloggers who answer correctly win!
What do you win, you ask?
Well, I promise it’s not this big boy. Although he is rather handsome and would make quite a few tasty steaks and hamburgers. (sorry big guy)
I’m going to be doing something a little different and choosing goodies based on the persons who win. It may be handmade or it may be storebought, but I promise it will be unique, useful, or make you laugh….and maybe even all three!
But there is one small catch. The winners have to keep the love flowing and host a Pay it Forward Contest on their blog, too. I chose 4 winners because I have two pay it forward contests to pass on. But the winners of this contest only have to choose two winners for their own Pay It Forward contest, so it’ll be easey peasy and lots of fun.
So, here ya go. Watch the video…..but go visit the outhouse first, or potty, if you have indoor plumbing. Or, have a change of underwear ready.
I’m serious. Heed my warning. Go do it now.

Well, that black and white one was doing some serious talking but the brown ones that ran in front of him were the scene stealers, lol... why did I just know it was going to be one humping another when you said to watch for some "odd activity". LOL
Would love to be part of the Pay It Forward gang. What the heck, I already have giveaways anyway! :)
By the way, forgot to mention the pic of the toilet paper roll cover on the cat is hilarious... it looks quite lovely on her. And your 2nd longhorn pic is awesome.
(Obviously this comment being 2nd won't count, lol)
LOL> I love it. They both look great. I can not believe there are so many boys in there. We have a few herds of long horn. But in the other cattle it is normal just 1 boy. Other than kids. That was an awesome video. Have a great week end Lisa.
The lineback, the one squaking (cause humans ain't cows. I think there was significantly more mooin from the humans ;) Pheomelanin creates red or yellow hair and eumelanin creates black and brown. If neither pigment is present the hair is white. Dare I go further into genetics? hehehe. We ain't got any of those cows around here, just Jersey's Holsteins and Ayrshire's mostly.
Funny business? hahaha there were two young cows mounting eachother hahahah. That or they were all wandering over going "who the heck broke their moo'er?!"
I've already put a pay it forward on my blog, in case someone else is interested send em my way. pay it forward
So all the longhorns are just kinda hangin' around visitin' and gossipin'. You show up and the black and white one says to you "Quit evesdroppin'! This is a "A-B" conversation. "C" your way out!" meanwhile the 2 young brown and whites decide to treat you to a show and dance across the screen. Though, I expect that they haven't learned yet that to dance, you're supposed to face each other!
I'm too late, but as a longhorn fan I have to say those little mating calfs were a great deal like the longhorns around here.
In fact, that's exactly why the cattle drive got started after the civil war. All kinds of folks went off to fight and the longhorns were left to...
Well, you know.
And since the north was out of beef because of the war and longhorns were hardy travelers, the cattle drive of all those ... horny (in terms of long horns, of course) cattle were the best choice.
:)
Excellent mooing, by the way.
Great pics, wow the horns! so cool!
Beautiful animals! Loved your pictures of them.
Your laugh makes me happy! :)
I often wonder what cows think of us when we "moo" at the. They must think we are crazy!! Funny video. That black and white cow was doing all the talking. And those two youngsters were having a bit of fun huh? Yikes!!! LOL
Awesome pictures!!
Was it just me or was the cow getting humped quite a bit younger than the one doing the humping?
I know I'm way too late for the Pay It Forward contest, but I still had to comment. That was pretty funny. :o)
Oh, and I suppose that is your daughter giggling and mooing along with you in the background? She sounds just as cute as she looks!
That was hilarious! That black and white was seriously talking back to you guys! I've also wondered what cows think when we moo at them, looks like the B & W liked you!
Very cute!
Ok I'm too late to play (darn work!) but I'll put in my answer. The black and white (with waaaay too much eyeliner) was talking. Unless you wanted us to answer the human, who I suspect is blonde and in a knee brace. lol
The odd activity. Hmmm, the 'dominance' display by the youngsters. Or was that their attempt to imitate the older bovine's mating.
By the way, the prettiest cow in the video, IMO, was the black & white that strolled in around 43seconds.
Very good, sorry I'm too late, but being that you have a winner. It was a very good video, love long horns, I think out of all the bovines that is my favorite. Even though I am partial to angus. I loved the cat!
Wow, those are some serious longhorns!
My *fave* was the child's comment that the black-and-white one must be the daddy....um, honey, when the hanging-down part has four handles, it's generally a lady cow.
Just in case that info comes up on the test later....!!!
p.s. verification word is "woomped", which is also giving me a giggle--is THAT what the brown cows were doing? "Woomping"?
Very interesting... I love how that one black and white cow was really going nuts for you guys! LOL!
I got tickled just listening to the giggling going on and your trying to get the cows to moo. :-)
LOL!!! I grew up next to a dairy farm, so I had plenty of time to perfect my "moo!" You guys did a great job with it. :)
Too bad I am too late to play this one....
Tell Genna that both her and her kitty make good models. :)
Great pictures! The long horns are really beautiful. Love the new hat!!! Very stylish.
ahhh, too late for the contest, but I still wanted to say that I thought what was going on behind the camera to be at least as funny, if not more so, than what was going on in front of the camera. Love your daughter's giggle. She makes a cute model too, and the cat certainly wears the hat with a certain panache.
Cute post as always.
I had to giggle! Its so funny when those baby's try to be big cows....It always cracks me up to see a baby humping its mom...sick really! LOL great video
By the time I get around to reading your posts you usually have anywhere from 15 to 25 comments. Funny video and great pictures.
