I was doing some stuff in the barn and happened to look up and this handsome fellow revealed himself to me.

Update on what I’ve been up to around here:
I have been up to my hair follicles in peaches this week. Last night I made the most delicious Peach Crisp. Yummo!
I’ve also been making lots of Freezer Jam, too. I found these cute, interlocking Ball brand containers for sale in our grocery store and am using these for my freezer jam storage.
I’ve already filled 20 of these jars well as 7 larger containers and I estimate that I’ve made more than 4 gallons of peach jam so far.
We’re still drinking peach smoothies every day and I work on peeling and slicing a large bowl of peaches throughout the afternoon and placing them in ziplock bags for the freezer for later use.
I’m also selling my over-abundance of peaches now, too. I placed an ad on Craigslist the other day and have had several replies already with one person showing up yesterday and buying 16lbs of peaches from me for $24.00 ($3.00 for 2lbs. of peaches).
And it’s a good thing because the birds have discovered our peaches, and though they do tend to be well-behaved and focus on pecking away at one peach before moving onto another one, and we do have plenty to share, it’s still rather annoying seeing them steal our peaches.
And I swear it’s as if, for every peach we pick, three more take it’s place. Oh…but I am SO not complaining, especially when I think of how much we’re going to be enjoying these sweet, delicious peaches when there is snow falling outside and the temperature is bitter cold.
Mmmmmmm.

If I were closer, I'd have to take some off your hands. Mr. Fry LOVES peaches.
Peaches looks good!!
Ripe peaches are amazing - I'm envious of the bounty but not of all the work you've been doing! Handsome raven!
Wonderful shot of the crow against the beautiful blue sky.
Oh those peaches! You've got me drooling again! :-) Our Ontario peaches are just starting to be available in stores, so I'll be buying some this weekend.
I'm glad you were able to sell some - that will help keep up with the abundance of them that you have!
Beautiful shots! Isn't it nice when thing go the way they are supposed to go? Happy Peachdom.
happy friday lisa.
you have been very busy with the peach jam. it's one of my favs.
lovely capture of the raven against the beautiful sky.
your weather looks lovely.
we are heading to high 80s today and humidity...ughh.
as always, thankful i am inside.
have a wonderful weekend.
hugs always.
I'm so envious, I so adore peaches, I even like saying Peaches and once had a darling chicken hen named Peaches.
My grandmother used to make peach jam. DELICIOUS! I bet yours is just as good! Oh, my...my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Would you consider selling me a jar of it? Pretty please????
I love ravens. We just have hoards of crows here. They say you know when it is winter when the crows come back to a little town about 20 minutes away called Essex. They come in swarms. In Essex there must be a murder, harharhar, get it? A gathering of ravens is called an unkindness.
I love ravens and crows! They don't set up housekeeping around here much. I don't know why.
What is it about birds and squirrels that have to taste-test the fruits of our labor? Lately, I've had a woodpecker pecking holes in my pomegranates!
OOO yum yum! Those Ball containers are cool, havnt seen those yet.
Ravens are cool, we have has a lot of loud crows lately.
Wow, those peaches are amazing, I'm so glad you've been able to sell a few and make some great treats! Crows are interesting...have you ever seen a baby one? ;) Ravens can be loud....I posted a video of some ravens screeching in the woods on one of our trail rides last month....definitely a little eerie!
Have a great weekend!
Oh how I wish I could get me some of those peaches!!!!! I am drooling as I write this.....
Great shot of the raven, and the pictures of the bird in the peach tree??? It looks like you shot it in a tropical paradise. :)
Magnificent first image. We don't get squirrels here but birds even though we feed them just love to peck at anything going.
Yummie! The peach jam looks so darn good! And a fresh peach crisp sounds heavenly! Your pictures are wonderful too! =) Please excuse me while I go look for the nearest peach tree!
Wow - you are so domestic and I am so clueless! I have a pear tree that is triple loaded this year, but I have no clue what to do with them. The horses have been eating the ones that fall, but I'm going to have to pick them soon and give them away. I can't let the girls eat too many. (These are hard skinned pears that grow in Florida - I don't know what they're called, but you can make preserves and cobblers and suchwith them I think.)
Sounds delicious and I'm sure all the hard work will be worth it.
Dan
You are peach-blessed this year. Enjoy it!
You must have a lot of peach trees! I have one peach tree and I get approx. 15 peaches.
Your jam looks soooo good!! I wished I had some of that! Yum, yum, yum!!
I would buy some of your peaches.. will you bring some up here to Washington???!!! The pictures are wonderful :)
You can keep your peaches... but send me some of those apples! lol
Holy moley - you guys are going to be sooo sick of peaches!
Thought I'd answer your comment on my blog here... regarding saddles as awards.
There is no way to know if the saddle will fit the horse (or for that matter rider) MOST of the people I know either keep the saddle on display as a trophy or put the fenders on their regular saddles to "show off"

Great shots, I wish we had some peach trees at moms house..:-)
Lisa you better watch out otherwise you and your family will start turning orange and fuzzy with all these peaches you are consuming! :)
Lisa - You are so lucky! I'd love to have a few peach trees to go with my raspberries! The climate in New England is just not well suited to peaches. Growing them here is really an art. Looking at your photos, I'm dreaming of peach pie - How many trees do you have?
