Last night we had some snow flurries which left about 1/2” to an inch of snow on the ground. It was actually nice to be able to walk over the hard frozen ground for a little while because ever since our first couple snowfalls have been in the process of melting with our warmer temps in the 30’s and 40’s, our ground has been a mired, mucky mess. Even Baby Doll takes her steps carefully as our mud tries to suck each of her hooves into the slop.
And this makes our 5th snowfall this winter, that has left accumulation on the ground. I love to take walks in the snow and especially enjoy it when my mare joins me, too.
Just another beautiful snowy, sunny day.

Fun shadows! I never got my snow. I guess I didn't boogie my bum enough! :( Hopefully in January, we'll get another shot!

We just got our first snowfall of the season. It is now melting, thank goodness it wasn't as bad as last year!!

We haven't been blessed with to many sunny days lately. Pretty depressing! Your pics sure have lifted my spirits up a little!
Lisa, after 5 days of rain, our horses are in MUD! UGH! First, snow, then a warmer rain, so the rain melted the snow. Now we have a week of warm weather, so they should all dry out! LOVE the shadow pics!

there are certainly benefits to the ground being frozen, turns the mud into a hard surface.
