I love this time of year when the roadways are lined with these big, cheerful yellow flowers. They are all over our yard and surrounding our chicken coop, too. They grow strong, tall, and beautiful without anyone having to plant, water, or fuss over them. My favorite kind of flower!

I love the wild sunflowers too, but they also give me a melancholy feeling because they are the harbingers of Fall.
