i couldn't help but realize that if this thing were standing in germany it would be an anatomy lesson in *all* of his parts.
i wanted to say thank you for pointing me to a good book today.
your film recommendation "das experiment" sounded interesting, and the lead actor is one of the few german actors i'm familiar with. i already knew about the standford experiment but i'm interested in this film, despite the horrible violence i'm in for. as i did some reading about it today, it referenced another human nature experiment called The Third Wave. i seemed to remember seeing this book on my husband's shelf so after doing lots of reading online, i read the book today too! it's fascinating! it's about how the german people let the nazi party commit atrocities, how they couldn't/didn't stand up against them (or when they did, you know what happened).
i hope that you are also familiar with this story - with this history teacher from 1967 who made history in his class by recreating the conditions that led people to follow and not think.
