Tea Time Tuesday

In case you all didn’t know, Ed, a Professional Truck Driver, talented photographer and the organizer/planner/idea person of the famous weekly Photography Challenge blog, called Sunday Stills, does a weekly post on his own personal blog called Tea Time Tuesday with Ed. Ed used to be a coffee drinker, but due to health issues, he decided to drink tea instead. Along with this decision, he has been sharing his exploration and experimentation of the Tea World each week.

Because I’m also a tea drinker, and rarely ever drink coffee, due to stomach sensitivity, I’ve been following along, enjoying Ed’s weekly Tea Reviews.

A few months ago I sent Ed a variety of teas to try from my own personal stash and shared some of names of my favorite teas that I thought he might like and should try.

Rcently Ed talked about a brand of tea that he has decided is one of his favorites, so I asked him if he might send me some to try. I figured he’d send me a few tea bags to sample, or maybe even a small box, so you can imagine how surprised I was to receive a package last week filled with not only 3 boxes of tea, but also a huge variety of loose tea bags, too. Thanks Ed! You totally rock!

As you can imagine I’ve been a tea drinking fool this past week and decided it might be fun to join Ed and his Tea Time Truck Express and do a Tea Time Tuesday post, too.

My first review will be of a tea, called Honeybush Caramel, made by a company named Revolution, which Ed is able to purchase in Pilot Truck Stops while he’s on the road..

The triangle mesh Pyramid Tea Bags are way cool.

The rosy-colored tea was very yummy with a pinch of sugar and a splash of milk. It is an unusual tea in that it is made not with black tea leaves, but with a blend of Rooibos, a broom-like member of the legume family of plants which only grows in South Africa, and is very healthy, due to it’s high level of anti-oxidants, lack of caffeine, and its low tannin levels.

Along with the Rooibos, the tea blend also included Honeybush, Safflowers, Marigold Flowers, and Caramel Flavor. I appreciated the delicate and complicated flavors and aroma of this colorful and delicious tea.

I drank it in the evening and it was a wonderful treat and great way to end the day.

Nothing warms me with quite like hot tea in the winter.

I first tried Rooibos tea when I was reading The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency books. The characters were always having a cup, so I needed to join them.

Lisa, this is a fun post and you have proved that your indoor photography is just as lovely as your outdoor shots.

What a great idea! I LOVE tea! I hope to make my own some day. I'm going to have to try some of the teas that you suggest.

I have tried so hard to like tea. Tried many many different types. There's just something about it - my palate can't seem to make peace with it!
Loved the post though!! If I ever decide to try tea again, I'll have to try some of these.

I love tea! I never drink coffee. My daughter told me about that honeybush tea. Now that I read your description-I'll just have to try it. :)

I was actually craving a cup of tea last night just before bed. Hmmm, must mean fall is in the air!

Love your tea photos!

That is great of Ed! I have to say that I can't do without my coffee in the morning and I have to have at least two cups but when I was working full time I drank tea the rest of the day. I only have my coffee in the morning and if I am working I like to drink tea the rest of the time! I love the mesh bags! They are great and your tea looks and sounds very good!

My boys used to go out for tea with their grandmother. My oldest always loved it - even the fancy tea service and plates of pretty goodies. To this my oldest loves tea and enjoys trying different teas. He visits quite a few specialized shops to supply his habit!

so nice of Ed:) I've always wanted to be a tea drinker, as weird as that sounds, and my oldest, Mr. G really wants a tea pot to have tea parties with his favorite stuffed animal but my husband doesn't find that very boy appropriate:(
I'm more of an ice tea gal.

Great post Lisa. :) We had breakfast at a friends house yesterday and they are tea drinkers, so I tried some myself, and I loved it. The flavor was RazzelMint from Star West Botanicals. A lovely tea. I plan on ordering some, and I'll send you a sample. :)
