Tea Time Tuesday

I’m still enjoying doing these Tea Time Tuesday reviews along with Ed of the popular weekly challenge blog , Sunday Stills.

This week’s review is of one of the Revolution tea varieties that Ed sent me a few weeks ago, and is called Orange Chocolate Green Tea.

The ingredients include: Sencha Tea, Ginger Root, Cacao Nibs, and natural chocolate and orange flavors. The first few sips I found confusing with too many flavors competing, but about halfway through the tea, I made peace with the cacophony of flavors and actually began to enjoy it a little.

Or perhaps it was only because my taste buds became overwhelmed? Let’s just say, I didn’t hate this tea blend, but I don’t think I will ever bother to drink it again.

Teatime Tuesday

Continuing on with Ed’s idea of Teatime Tuesdays posts, here’s a new addition.

I’m still drinking several cups of tea every day, but I missed last week’s Teatime Tuesday post due to just being too busy.

I did recently try the Revolution English Breakfast Tea, and it’s the first Revolution Tea I’m not that crazy about. I drink black teas every day, usually Irish Breakfast, Earl Grey, and English Breakfast, so I tend to be picky about my black teas and prefer them strong, stout, very black, and smooth. This tea tasted a little washed out and weak and had a strange flowery flavor to it.

Tea Time Tuesday

Continuing with Ed’s Tea Time Tuesday, my tea review this week is for another Revolution Tea called White Pomegranate.

I have to admit I was prepared not to like this tea because I don’t usually like fruity style teas or teas that contain rosehips because I just don’t enjoy the flavor nor the acidity. But this tea was fairly smooth and only lightly fruity and definitely tasted of pomegranate, which is one fruit I really like. So, I give this tea a two thumbs up!

Tea Time Tuesday

Following in the footsteps of Ed’s Tea Time Tuesday, this is my second week of sharing my own tea reviews. And this particular tea is one that Ed sent me recently and I must admit…………

I. Love. It!

This ASSAM tea is a true wake-me-up, dark, rich, strong, black breakfast blend with a lot of substance and character and I have even enjoyed a cuppa in the late afternoon when my eyes start getting heavy and I feel like I could use a nap. One cup of this delicious tea and I’m ready to finish up the day. With a splash of milk and a tsp of sugar it’s just as satisfying as a piece of cake, but without the fat and calories. Mmm!

Plus I like how the designs on the package look like little chicken feet.

On a different note, my garden is still producing lots of delicious Romaine Lettuce and we are enjoying almost daily salads. We have enough to share, so I’ve been creating little bundles of lettuce to share with our neighbors and some friends.

The zucchini in my garden are also growing and I can already see that I am going to have a crazy overflow of zukes that I’ll be trying some new recipes with, as well as sharing with other zuke loving folks. Speaking of which, this is inspiring me to have a contest…..I’ll post more later.

Tea Time Tuesday

In case you all didn’t know, Ed, a Professional Truck Driver, talented photographer and the organizer/planner/idea person of the famous weekly Photography Challenge blog, called Sunday Stills, does a weekly post on his own personal blog called Tea Time Tuesday with Ed. Ed used to be a coffee drinker, but due to health issues, he decided to drink tea instead. Along with this decision, he has been sharing his exploration and experimentation of the Tea World each week.

Because I’m also a tea drinker, and rarely ever drink coffee, due to stomach sensitivity, I’ve been following along, enjoying Ed’s weekly Tea Reviews.

A few months ago I sent Ed a variety of teas to try from my own personal stash and shared some of names of my favorite teas that I thought he might like and should try.

Rcently Ed talked about a brand of tea that he has decided is one of his favorites, so I asked him if he might send me some to try. I figured he’d send me a few tea bags to sample, or maybe even a small box, so you can imagine how surprised I was to receive a package last week filled with not only 3 boxes of tea, but also a huge variety of loose tea bags, too. Thanks Ed! You totally rock!

As you can imagine I’ve been a tea drinking fool this past week and decided it might be fun to join Ed and his Tea Time Truck Express and do a Tea Time Tuesday post, too.

My first review will be of a tea, called Honeybush Caramel, made by a company named Revolution, which Ed is able to purchase in Pilot Truck Stops while he’s on the road..

The triangle mesh Pyramid Tea Bags are way cool.

The rosy-colored tea was very yummy with a pinch of sugar and a splash of milk. It is an unusual tea in that it is made not with black tea leaves, but with a blend of Rooibos, a broom-like member of the legume family of plants which only grows in South Africa, and is very healthy, due to it’s high level of anti-oxidants, lack of caffeine, and its low tannin levels.

Along with the Rooibos, the tea blend also included Honeybush, Safflowers, Marigold Flowers, and Caramel Flavor. I appreciated the delicate and complicated flavors and aroma of this colorful and delicious tea.

I drank it in the evening and it was a wonderful treat and great way to end the day.
