Estancia ACTHA Saturday’s Photos

So excited! My friend Kendra just sent me these photos she took on Saturday, but instead of trying to squeeze them into my previous post, I’ll just add them to this post.

Riding in the outdoor arena before our ride time started. Apparently I can ride with my eyes shut!

Talking with a guy named Roby who was planning an ACTHA CTR in Anton Chico, NM for May, which had to be cancelled. He showed up to be a volunteer for the Estancia ACTHA ride. Nice guy. Enjoyed talking with him. But Apache was obviously bored with our conversation.

Sometimes Kendra would ride behind Apache and I to try to calm and slow down Bailey. Apache didn’t mind him back there and she also didn’t mind leading, following or standing around waiting. She was a very patient, confident, willing, calm and relaxed Apache mare.

Apache took such good care of me riding up and down through the steeper rocky sections of the ridge. She was also careful not to rub me off on any trees all weekend, like she has tried to do in the past. Instead of trying to rub her itchy face on a bush, she would turn it to me and let me scratch it for her. She was such a good girl!

My favorite photo of Apache and I from Saturday. I like it so much I used PhotoScape to remove the camera date mark, so I could use it as my Facebook Profile photo.

Looks like such a great time. I would love to do something like that. Apache is gorgeous and it looks like you've got spectacular places to ride out there.
