Oh my goodness! I’ve been so darn busy. I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since my last post. So much has happened since then! But here’s the end of my previous post, so I can at least share those photos and the fun that we had.
After my friend Kendra and I had our very fun Pony Playday around my house and barn, and after we enjoyed our lovely Mountain Trail Ride, Kendra offered my 9 yr old daughter, Jenna, a Pony Ride on her gelding Bailey.
I had already removed all the tack from Apache, and she was pretty tired from such a long day. But good ‘ol Bailey was up to the task.
Kendra took Bailey and Apache through and over some of the obstacles set up in my paddocks.
Kendra is such an awesome friend and I hope she knows just how much that 15 minute Pony Ride meant to my daughter.
She was quick to thank Bailey for her ride. And she was flying high the rest of the evening and even into the next day.
And after we removed Bailey’s tack, we let both he and Apache loose in my big paddock, and Kendra and I went back to my house to enjoy a late lunch of homemade green chile pizza made with my bread maker.
Of course, we enjoyed our meal al fresco, relaxing in my little peach and apple orchard, with my dogs and chickens.
Jenna shared some of her pizza crust with Dobbie Girl and Mustang Sally.
And Kendra had a little company while she munched her pizza.
It was a great way to end a perfect day!

Awe so happy for Jenna!!
What a great day!
Sounds like a great day!
Wow hard to believe Jenna is only 9, she looks so tall & lanky :)
Ha ha--amazing how much more our animals love us when there's food in our hands! I'm glad Jenna got to join in such an exceptional day.
It does sound like a lot of fun. Sitting in your orchard for lunch sounds heavenly.
Awesome and fun pictures!
It sounds like Kendra is a great friend. It's so good to have someone to partner with the horse stuff. I wish my chickens could free range like yours (not allowed in the city) but they seem pretty happy finally making it to their larger outdoor coop.
Oh how I have missed reading your blog. Am I missing something or can I not follow your blog anymore I don't see it in my blog reader anymore.
ps- I want that speckled black and white hen how cute!
I love the photo of Jen with her arms out...flying high! So cute! What a fun way to spend the day! That pizza sounds so yummy!!
Love that last photo of the hen...that's how I feel right now while sitting at my desk...sleepy!
So nice that your sweet Jen got a ride on Bailey ! Kendra seems like great gal and a good friend! Chickens trying to share my lunch would have me in a bit of a panic I am ashamed to admit
