About two weeks ago I shared a photo of a double rainbow on my blog. Here in New Mexico we can expect to see double rainbows just about every time it rains during our Monsoon Season, because the sun is typically shining in the sky at the same time it’s raining.
So we tend to take rainbows for granted.
Except after I posted my double rainbow photo, Sydney mentioned a video on You Tube, that was made my someone called Hungry Bear, that I should watch. Check it out:
After watching that video I will never look at Double Rainbows the same way again.
Yesterday we had a big monsoon rainstorm with the sun shining as rain fell hard and hail pelted the earth. Soon a double rainbow filled the eastern sky, I stepped outside onto my bedroom balcony to try to experience the same feelings of awe and emotion that Hungry Bear did in Yosemite when he created his video.
I grabbed my camera to make my own Double Rainbow video and even though I was acting silly and having a little fun, I must admit that Hungry Bear’s spirit did actually shine through that rainbow and even caused me to be more appreciative of our beautiful double rainbows.
