Sunday Stills ~ Pets

Happy One Year Anniversary, Sunday Stills !!!!!!

Here are my pets to share with everyone this week.

My mare Baby Doll waiting for her breakfast. She will be 17 yrs old in March.

My mare Baby Doll and my little dog, Dobbie girl.

I adopted Dobbie girl just 5 months ago from the local Animal Control Shelter. She is 2 years old and was rescued from a Puppy Mill situation. It may only be 5 months she’s lived here, but it feels as if she has been a special part of my life for much longer than that. Some folks tell me that she is lucky that we’ve given her a home, but it’s me that feels lucky. She is my very loyal, loving, companion, especially while my husband is on the road.

This is my twinling son, Jax’s kitty. She is 6 months old. We adopted her from a local animal shelter just 3 months ago. Her name is Hopi and she is adored by my son.

And this is Hopi and my daughter’s Manx cat, Javalina. She is 3 years old. Jax was trying to carry both of them together, which you can see they weren’t too crazy about. Actually Hopi seemed rather comfie. Javalina……not so much.

And this is my husband’s German Shepherd. Her name is Zuni and she is 2 years old. Zuni loves playing in the snow.

I was really hoping to share some photos of my chickens, of which several are very treasured pets. But alas, they always insist on staying tucked inside their cozy chicken house when the weather is foul….or fowl. hehe!

I love that westward ear of Dobbie. It looks like she"s hitchhiking.

Zuni is just beautiful, course we are partial to GSD here...

Lovely portraits, especially the one of Dobbie. The cats made me laugh.

Dobbie is my favorite! Her face reminds me of my Ms Sami...smart and always up to something. I'm glad you've got her, there's something about a dog that eases lonliness-even if you don't know you're lonely!

haha those cats do not look happy :)
dobbie is adorable, i like seeing her photos

I love the 3rd picture, the one of Dobbie!! She is so adorable, and I love her little jacket!
The kitty's are just too cute, that expression on Javalina's face just says it all!

Love the snow-nosed Shepherd - ours does the same thing!

Really great shots, especially the ones with the cat and the german shepherd. LOL. Don't blame the chickens for staying inside. I would too in such wheather.

You have a beautiful assortment of furry friends.

From the depth of the snow on the chicken house entry ramp it may be difficult to get out!! LOL

We got snow yesterday. :)

FOWL? LOL! You do love a good pun don't you..:-)
I remember the first time you posted about Dobie girl, and the pic of the two for one is just too funny, Jax is a brave one for doing that pic...:-)

Great pictures and story. I like the two cats together. The one on top looks kind of comfy.

Wow, it sure looks chilly at your place now! The perspective between Baby Doll and Dobbie is very cool. I didn't realize BD was 17, she looks much younger. Dobbie is a treasure, I'm so glad you found each other!

The portraits of Dobbie and Zuni are very good. The shot of the cats together is hysterical! LOL. I can see why your chickens didn't want to come out and sit for a photo! Our little Starley was shivering the entire time for his sitting in the sun at 40 degrees.

Beautiful job on the photography, as always!

I always so enjoy coming to your sight Lisa! You come up with some great stuff and cool pics always! I think you must have more time than me! :) I love your little Dobbie dog (after Harry P.?) what a friendly little face, I have been tempted to go to the shelter lately, but I WILL NOT leave without an adoption occuring so I am treading carefully and weighing out my limits...Defintely no to a puppy as my patience and work schedule (RN who works 12 hr shifts 3 days a week)are not conducive, and no to anyone that won't fit through the dog door I already own, which will fit at most a 50 lb. dog. Also must get along with other dogs...breed, I'm not really caring, I love dogs so much...My dog now is 16 and I thought she was full bred Akita when I got her. Well, she is mixed with something NOT Akita which turned out to be a blessing, she is 37 lbs. and at her fattest was 49! God gives us what we need, not always what we THINK we want, I have found! Do you know any of Dobbie dogs breeding? I love the little coat! Adorable! Sorry you haven't heard from me, the computer was moving so slow for months making it hard to navigate sites, and then croaked. I feel so free now that it has been revitalized! :) Miss hearing from you...but then, I guess I would need to post for that! Well, I should be back, barring any major malfuntion! Happy Holidays!

Great pictures, Lisa. Your chicken coop and set up looks fantastic. Do you have any more pictures of that area without snow? I'd love to see more details. I really enjoy your blog and seeing all your critters.

Happy Holidays to you, too!

These are absolutely precious !!! You know I love people who adopt !!! It is time to run puppy mills and backyard breeders out of business!
I love the comment about how someone said the dog is lucky, but you said you feel like the lucky one... I SOOOO get that !

I had no idea BabyDoll was 17 yrs old. Love, love the 2nd shot of horse and dog and then also really love the shot of Dobbie. I don't know why more folks don't have dogs as pets and to alert them of visitors, etc. Our dogs stay "on duty" if somebody arrives outside, we certainly know about it.

Fanstastic shots, Lisa. And as always, your colors superb! Like the one of Dobie and BD! Intersting angle! Snow makes for a great backdrop!

What fun photos you shared! Love seeing the two kitties being carried...my daughter use to try to carry more than one cat at a time when she was little and they never seemed to like it to much...=)

Zuni looks like she loves the snow! =)

Greetings Lisa!
I new here at Sunday Stills. It seems fitting that the anniversary is my first challenge. I love your pets, and the photo's you took of them. Beautifully vivid colour. Not that you want to give away any secrets, but do you adjust the colour before you post them? They are simply stunning.
Have a great week

Awww, Lisa....love those pictures! Your little Dobie is so sweet, love her floppy ear. Zuni reminds me of the wonderful German Shepherd we used to have named Brenna. She loved the snow so much, she was a great dog and we miss her a lot.
LOL...snowy chicken house! We only have a tiny dusting of snow but it's cold out.
Great photos!!!
hugs....

You consistently take the best photos. They are well shot and well composed. And fun to boot!

Your snowflakes are amazing too. We have a little bit of snow here today, but I am so busy, I'm not sure I'm going to get to play any today :-/. Good inspiration though - thanks!

All great pics!!! I love the one of Dobbie with one ear up and one ear down. It gives her character. And Zuni looks like a snow monster.
