This week’s Sunday Stills Challenge is another tough one. The challenge is about taking photos that evoke some kind of emotion or mood, not within ourselves, but in the person viewing the photos. I take that to mean, that no explanations or descriptions of each photo should be expected or necessary. That, just like art, the photo should speak for itself.
I chose photos from my archives because this week has been too overwhelming for me emotionally to focus on photography. There is currently great sadness in my life and I think my photos will probably express that.
It will be interesting for me to read what reactions my photos receive.
Here goes……

Oh poor Rojo~~Both #1 & 2 give me sadness. Loosing a friend is always hard...loosing our heritage is another sad state.
#3 says "anticipation" to me.
#4 says "proud"...proud that you're big enough to be out on your own.
Mine'll be up at 3 AM pac time ;~)
PS...hoping all is well with you...(((hugs)))
for me, the 3rd photo with the 2 horses.
I'm sending positive energy your way Lisa.
#1 pain
#2 fear
#3 curious
#4 pride
great choices...
They're all gorgeous.
#1: sadness, regret
#2: foreboding
#3: joy? (whatever "appreciation of beauty" translates into in emotions.)
#4: anticipation, hope
Oh, Lisa, I'm sorry your going through a rough patch. I hope you can see some light at the end of the tunnel.
the 1st one tugs on the heart strings :(
your amazing at conveying emotion
I don't remember seeing the giraffe photo before - EXCELLENT !
The photo of Rojo says "finality" to me. It's actually a lovely composition.
I feel your pain and sadness, Lisa
Your painfully stretched heartstrings 1)
Pulling against the walls of your heart 2)
as great sadness stars you in the face 3)
Still, you stand - asking for strength and favor- to reach for the HOPE of VICTORY in a new day..a new beginning 4)
My prayers are always with you!
Gentle Hugs,

After viewing your pictures I have a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach, although I do feel great sadness. Hugs to you my friend.

Personally, I could have lived without remembering the Rojo tragedy...
but the others are great.
The barn makes me think It was a gift to see it before it's gone..great workmanship. And those horses are so expectant. And the Baby...so inquisitive!
PS. Praying for uplifting girlfriend~

That about covers all of the emotional spectrum..Well done..:-))
Uhh yes unfortunetly I remember that first photo and yes it still makes me want to cry.I like your last shot it evokes happier emotions.
1. Sorrow
2. Broken
3. Beauty

Hope you're okay Lisa. You have me worried. HUGS.
1-Pain, sadness, grief
2-I get a sort of abandoned haunted feeling.
3-curiosity
4-a hint of mischief.
Funny, not in the "ha ha" way... before I could even scroll down to see the complete pic for #1 I was thinking of Rojo. :(
#2 - desolation and ominous

Your saddness definately come through with your photo choices! All good thoughts sent your way!!!
I guess I'm in a different space:
#1 nap in the sun
#2 still witness
#3 Anticipation
#4 Mini me
Worried about you. Thinking of you and sending you warm, supportive prayers.
They are nicely selected shots, Lisa. Your photography always speaks for itself and is so reflective of you and your love of animals. I hope that your weekend is going well and that things look up for you. Hang in there, my friend!!
You always make me smile! Wonderful!
Very nice, emotion on all accounts!
Thinking of you, Gail
There are endings, sadness and loneliness in the first two. They make my heart ache.
#3 Is different. Looking at the 2 horses, I feel calm, peaceful. Also something else I'm having trouble defining...horses to me mean power, grace and freedom. So I guess I'm feeling a mix of those three things, too.
#4 is new beginnings. I see hope and promise. The baby is standing on his own to face the world.
Very good choices with powerful emotions.
The first two evoke such sadness, the third one wariness on the part of the horses and a little anger from me, and the last one- hope.
first and last really speak to me.
Good job, Lisa! Very emotion-provoking...all of them in their own special way.
The first one evoked "peaceful" as did the second but reading the comments changed my perspective. Sorry for your loss.
The barn shot makes me sad.
Great shots sweetie! Thanks for sharing
Excellent choices. As soon as I saw the subject, I knew the gallery would include poor Rojo.
Your photos take me through a whole range of emotions. Good job.
All of these are very emotional photos.
Thinking of you today and through the week.

Lisa, I feel your sadness, grief, and heartache, as I just lost my riding buddy in October, as you know. The barn photo makes me feel that something has come to an end. My photos were of sunsets also, http://picturesbybrenda.blogspot.com/
Sunsets remind me that as the sun goes down, so does our pain, but the sun will come up again, and so will our feelings of peace and contentment.
I have seen that look on my horses, too. They seem to be on high alert, watching, looking for something, waiting for Rojo. Makes me feel sad for them.
Maybe you posted the last picture to remind yourself that there will always be another beginning, another baby....
I hope your pain lessens, as mine is, and that peaceful, happy memories will come and the pain will go away. Sadness may be there at times, but so will a smile of something special that Rojo did.
Brenda
I don't see sadness in any of these, just beauty. Even the old crooked barn in the blue mist.
From all sadness comes beauty... though we may not see it at the time.

Oh my. The first two are so, so sad. They hit a very personal note for me now, as we just recently put one of our horses down. 3 and 4 are both beautiful, but 1 and 2 are just so poignant for me right now.
Beautiful choices, as always, Lisa.
I just love the giraffe one! The layout and color is just cool!
Beautiful pictures, the first two, especially Rojo are so sad. That picture of him is heart wrenching, poor boy.
Again so sorry you are going through a bad spell right now.
prayers coming your way.....
jane

Peaceful on the first one, fading away and seen better days on 2, apprehension on the 3 and ready to take on the world innocence

I luv the misty house that it so cool/spooky/romantic kind of thing. I went to Ireland a couple years ago and I wish I would have been better at the photography... So many photo ops like that.
Hey I'm looking at your profile: Have you ever been to Cape at the Capitol up at Santa Fe? I'm wondering if I've met you...
Very poignant selections. Powerful choices. So sorry for your sadness. I'm thinking of you.
