Sunday Stills ~ A Day in the Life

This week’s Sunday Stills Challenge was a serious challenge. The rules were to carry a camera as we go about our daily life for a day. But the tough part of the challenge was to only use 4 photos.

I’m glad I posted on Thursday about my day spent in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho this week, because I was able to post many more than just 4 photos. lol!

So, here is what I’ve got for today:

On Thursday, I drove north of Albuquerque and spent the afternoon hiking along the Rio Grande River with my little dog, Dobbie girl.

I even dipped my toes into the chocolate-colored water of the Rio Grande River. It was a nice treat being that we’re still experiencing snow and ice up above Albuquerque, in the mountains where I live.

Then it was time to drive east back towards home. These are the Sandia Mountains. On the other side of those 10,500 ft peaks is where I call home.

Almost home. Just below that snow covered ridge in the distance, that’s where you’ll find the Laughing Orca Ranch.

where was your horse at this particular day?

Did you get frost bite from the cold water? You are like my son, he always goes barefooted.

I envy the fact that your time is yours. I know you have responsibilities like homeschooling your children, but that's way different than having to commute and mold to corporate rules. I love it that you get to take your kids on amazing adventures, or go off with just your Dobbie girl, whom I might steal if I ever get the chance.

I can't decide if I want to be you or Linda at the 7MSN when I grow up.

You had so many lovely shots this week I bet it was really hard to choose. I love the shadow of you and your dog.

Though I don't care for your wind and snow in the mountains, I like how there's no other people on your hike in your pictures, and no other vehicles on the road. You get a true feeling of peace, quiet, and solitude. That's how it was when we first moved to this area 20 years ago.
